I was in MO last week for Thanksgiving and I saw more Wranglers and cowboy boots than I've seen in most places.
You'll see the same thing in Hershey and Indian Town Gap Pennsylvania ... it doesn't make them southern.
Missouri is not a bad place - it's just different. They have no identity really and that's always been their bugaboo.
With regard to fans, Mizzou fans are a little insecure, to the point of being abrasive at times, but again that all originates with their basic lack of identity and subsequent insecurities. They've never really been accepted by anyone. The B1G didn't want them and that broke their hearts. The Big 8, 10, 12 ... didn't want them - but then again, Texas was the issue there so right when they thought they had found a home they realized they had to go.
Mizzou is like the poor foster child ... everyone feels sorta sorry for them but no one really wants to adopt them fully.
We southerners are a gentile, refined bunch of fans with good hearts and good intentions but still ... there is that yankee thing the mizzourites seem to embrace and it's difficult to overlook at times.
South Carolina and Mizzou is nothing alike, not in the least. Matter of fact IF any sort of second-hand rivalry does develop over time, it will be because of our polar opposite core values and belief systems.
South Carolina fans have never been loudmouthed or obnoxious. We are quietly confident that our time will come and we endeavor to make it happen on a consistent basis.
Mizzou fans are more drum beaters. Their student body tends to reflect the same radical attitudes, the need for attention. They like to play the victim card.
SCAR fans have never been victims of anything. We just keep rolling along, fairly quietly, enjoying life as it comes.
And I think that is the basic difference between Southerners and yankees as a whole.

Since Joining the SEC UT is 25-24 overall. SEC play 11-24. MU is 33-19 overall and 17-15 in SEC with 2 SEC east titles

You forgot pompous gas bags.
Y'all got that market cornered.

Here are the facts about Mizzou since 2007.
5 Division titles
Top 15 in wins
7 Bowl games
Has not lost to an FCS school or lost 9 games in a season(or 8 for that matter).
Why do USCjr fans think they deserve a top 20 coach when they are barely a top 40 program?

It's a good place to live. Obviously with 6 million people and still growing. Only a few SEC states have a bigger population. Oh and 2 good size cities one metro area about 2 mil, another metro area about 3 mil, pro sports, etc. Then we have our country part of the state, southern Missouri with a city(Springfield) that's metro area around 250,000+ and a popular tourist place in Branson that's been ranked in the top 10 at times for tourism.

How did UT manage to play 3 more games than Mizzou from 2012-2015?

People made fun of Southern Cal hiring from within, now it's a good hire?
And for the record, I was never in the make fun of Southern Cal party. I went to a Trojans games this year and that guy can coach. Talent obviously won't be an issue for him.

Mizzou was in the Big 8/12 for over 100 years. What the hell are you talking about? Mizzou wanted out of the conference because it's becoming the Texas/OU vs everyone else conference. The Longhorn network is a fricking slap in the face to the entire conference. Did Mizzou try to join the Big 10? Yes. Did Mizzou want to join the SEC? Yes.
A 100 year old person who moves into a different neighborhood is an "orphan".
I can't wait until Muschump is your Head coach, the jokes will write themselves.

Muschamp can be good with the right coordinators. At least he's already had mistakes to learn from in a HC role. We can't control who we hire, so I will make the best of it from a fan's perspective.

people also said no serious P5 school let alone a top SEC school hires a HC that has NO HC experience... (kirby-UGA)
people talk, yes they do...

Uh that list just proves my point. Hiring interims and coordinators with no HC experience are not "impact hires". They are safe options.
If you think that Helton was USC's first choice, you have your head in the sand.

They didn't want Mizzou to leave.lmao. These people don't know the history of Mizzou and Big 6, Big 8, Big 12. Missouri was a key part of the conference. Been there since the damn beginning when South Carolina was a fricking independent.
Hell big 12 still have conference tourneys in our state. Yes they play the basketball tournament in Missouri. State of Missouri and businesses in Missouri gets that Big 12 money $$$$$$$$.

Based on what? Your 2 10 win seasons and 1 division title?
Mizzou has 15 conference titles all time.
Historically USCjr can't hold Mizzou's jockstrap. Over the last 10 years, you are allowed to wash it and that is all.
