My position is it’s certainly possible for someone to do so and saying the 2017 SECC is beneath auburn is something an auburn fan would say.
As far as the topic at hand, auburn and UGA are near mirror images of each other with UGA having more consistency and Auburn having higher peaks. In the past 40 years both teams have won and been to the same number of championships and needed a transcendent player to win the championship they won.

Uh no. Richt had one top 5 class his entire time. Mostly fell in the 7-10 range which put UGA around 3-5th in the league every year.

Georgia Tech has more national championships than Georgia. I'd say that's more prestigious. Most people would probably agree with that.

I'm talking about the state of Georgia. I never said anything about the state of Alabama. But, yes, Alabama has more national championships than Auburn. Anybody knows that. Other sources besides the AP named National Champions pre-1998.
