Yes, I can. The additions of OU and TX don't make Mizzou a better fit.

OU and TX don't belong either, but they are better fits than Mizzou.

You're certainly entitled to your opinion, but the late, great Mike Slive and the rest of the SEC brass and member schools knew better, thank goodness.

The SEC's expansion in 2012 through the addition of Mizzou and A&M was a master stroke by the conference brain trust. The conference has grown richer and stronger than ever as a result. The perception that Missouri "doesn't belong" is meaningless in the grand scheme of things. Absolutely meaningless.

You asked for "around here", not for slack in the conference office.

Poll the members of this forum, and poll the fans of the traditional SEC schools, and I'll wager you'll find a very, very small percentage in favor of Mizzou being members.

That’s the best news for Mizzou since 1960.

Have you ever actually been to rural Missouri? The south part of the state is Southern culture. The rest of the state is a cross between Southern, Heartland, and Midwestern cultures, but they aren't anything like Northeastern Yankees.

Anything north of 44 is a yankee state. No question about it.

I still don't really think of Arky and USC as being real SEC schools.

The problem with Missouri is that they are actually named for the "Missouri Tigers" which was a Union Home Guard during the war. I'm sure that if they realized they were going to be in the SEC back then they would have named themselves the Missouri Bushwackers or Bloody Billies or something like that.
