The relative position of the two schools can be summed up by a single game.
The Greatest Missouri basketball team of all time, coached by Missouri's best basketball coach of all time, a #1 seed in the NCAA tournament and undefeated in the conference lost to Arkansas.
It didn't merely lose by a few points, it lost 120-68.
Congratulations on a dominant regular season win 30 years ago in men's basketball, and for a ton of national championships in track and field. Those are admirable accomplishments.
But, I'll gladly take 10-4 (including a New Year's Day bowl win) over both of those.

This is your biggest accomplishment in all sports since you’ve joined the conference. You and aggie have a lot in common.

Missouri simply doesn't belong in the conference.
You're certainly entitled to your opinion, but the late, great Mike Slive and the rest of the SEC brass and member schools knew better, thank goodness.
The SEC's expansion in 2012 through the addition of Mizzou and A&M was a master stroke by the conference brain trust. The conference has grown richer and stronger than ever as a result. The perception that Missouri "doesn't belong" is meaningless in the grand scheme of things. Absolutely meaningless.

Arkansas is in the South.
Missouri is in the Midwest.

I'm going against the grain here: I don't mind Missouri. They've been in the conference for 11 years, and the only thing overstaying its welcome are the sidewalk SEC fans who believe saying "kick out Mizzou" is clever & original.

Arkansas has a worse record all-time vs. the SEC (181-228-8) than Mizzou (65-66-1), a worse record since 1992, and a worse record since Mizzou joined the SEC.

It’s cute you think it was just Morris. No coach in Arkansas history that has coached at least 5 years has a worse record than Bert. Jeff Long didn’t give a shite about winning

Yeah, and according to the federal government, Maryland, Delaware, and the District of Columbia are in the South. Cultural regions in the U.S. are malleable beyond state borders.
Missouri as a whole is culturally much different than the 1992-2011 era SEC states. It has a long history of professional sports taking precedent over college sports, which is not found in any Southern state due the South's continued isolation and slow industrialization after Reconstruction. Kansas City and St. Louis are undoubtedly Midwestern and share many ties to cities like Chicago and Detroit. The southern third of Missouri, however, has much more in common with the South.

The only time I remember getting excited about playing Mizzou in football was the 2003 Independence Bowl and that's only because it was Matt Jones vs Brad Smith.
I just don't view Mizzou as a rival in Football or Baseball. We do have a damn good rivalry in Basketball and I really look forward to those games. Maybe Football will eventually grow in to more if a rivalry, but I doubt it now that Texas is coming.

Because we're cool and y'all are shite
Because we're Southern and you are Yankee
Because we win SEC titles and earn respect and you are a doormat
Because your angle of TV at your stadium blows arse
