All this dick measuring using SOS and stats as a surrogate is comical.
Use caveman logic:
Caveman cannot figure out why team from central Florida has better defense statistically than Red Elephant and Corndog eating teams). SOS and stats hurt caveman brain too much to make sense of.
Red elephant good
Corndogs good
Red elephant and corndog tribes meet in Red Elephant territory to directly do battle.
Caveman try not to make any decisions until 2 combatants have fought it out.
Till that time caveman will try to keep his tribe and not so domesticated animals settled.

Sorry Scott, but my daddy taught me the proof's in the puddin'. My eyes and five plus decades in and around the sport tell me that 'Bama and LSU are the two best teams I've seen this year and Choklahoma is a distant fourth behind those two and Wisconsin. No amount of formulas or data will change my mind. Guess I'm just too old school, Amigo. May the best team win in November.

I'm being totally serious. I know there are some smart bama fans on here that understand these are two very special teams this year, and it is very neat to get this opportunity (should we both still be undefeated).
Then, we get fans like you on here. Pretty sad really. It will be an epic battle, just like practically every single year is. FYI, Oregon played in the national championship last year, and auburn had to score in the last seconds to win the game. Oregon is every bit as good as last year, if not better. They have a much better offense than arkansas, and the defense is not even comparable. Kind of funny really. That team has basically blown out every single team they have played over the last 20 games, except auburn who they lost in the last seconds, and then LSU is the only team that whipped that arse in almost two years. Arky has never even won a conference championship or bcs game....and while a good offense, their defense is garbage, and they simply don't have the talent to win a conference championship much less a national championship. Luckily, there are actually some cool bama fans that can appreciate what bama and lsu both have righ tnow.

LSU has done nothing and has not impressed, so let's not even play the rest of the season, because we suck so bad. Maybe if we played North Texas, Penn State, Arkansas, etc., it's possible we would be worthy of a #1 ranking

Yeah, Oregon and WVU may not be world beaters and their schedules are less than stellar, but one can't deny that they are explosive offensively, if nothing else.
Bama is probably the better team at this point, but stop tying to take away what LSU has accomplished.
