I didn't say the stat was made up. Correlation does not equal causation though.
Maybe they were so good they couldn't be held. There's lots of possible reasons for that stat.
You had easily the most sacks last year btw. Were they so good that there should've been even more of a gap between you and the rest of CFB?
When you are bigger faster stronger than your opponent, it's harder for the opponent to commit a penalty on you.
Also when you're going by yards, it's possible that y'all made the play despite the penalty therefore not getting the penalty yardage. Again, being bigger faster stronger helps with that.

I obviously hate Bama but all the ref threads are childish and embarrassing. Basically whoever is on top is going to get accused of paying refs. Isn't Bama the most penalized team every year?

Maybe if that was a "more times than not" type thing. It's not. It apparently happens every single week. 8 consecutive games now that Bama has been penalized more than their opponent. That includes a game against Clemson, who ranked near the bottom quarter of teams in penalties committed, in which they ran 99 offensive plays and were not flagged for a single infraction. Outrageous.

Just don't get mad at your fans for this. All teams have fans that do this. The only reason it seems like more LSU fans do it is because there are more LSU fans on this site. Yes, the refs blow some calls because they make mistakes like the rest of us. Each team has 60 minutes to make enough play to win the game, to overcome adversities in a game, such as bad calls. It is human nature to blame the refs for the bad calls and ignore the calls that goes a team's way after the loss. It is easier than to admit that the team that they have invested so much time in following got beat by a better team, or even harder to admit, got beat by a team not as talented who simply played better that night.(like Troy). The refs are not the biased ones, we the fans are.
