Not necessarily most sidewalk fans I know went to a different university completely

I think the trashy fans are more likely to be non-alums, while not all non-alums are trashy. The trashy folk splash team logos on everything to identify with something that is good (probably not much going on in their life otherwise).
There is a certain love for a university that you can only have from spending time in school there. I don't mean that in a pretentious way at all either. I know several LSU fans that hold degrees from another school but still give generously to the school and AD, hold tickets, etc. But the feelings that are invoked in me whenever I walk across campus would only be shared by those who went to school there. Doesn't mean I'm a better fan, just means I have a deep and intimate attachment to the university itself.
ETA: I know great LSU fans who didn't go to college at all as well.

I attended the University of Alabama for one semester before I had to come home and attend a local college, due to financing and other concerns. I have loved the "University" not just the athletic teams since I was 13.

I go to games and partake in University events every now and then and am attending a college right now, be it not Alabama or Auburn
Does that make me a stadium seat fan?
If we're going on your posting style, then 100% yes.

I went to a college in the A&M system not A&M proper but I've been an Aggie my whole life because my family is tied the University in one way or another. I chose to go elsewhere just to get out on my own. So yes I'm a side walk fan but I only own 3 items that have the A&M logo on them

a&m is in a unique position. They probably have the least side walk fans of any team in the sec.
Incorrect. They have the largest sidewalk fan base of any SEC school.

You are an alum

Yeah don't let them convince you of that bullshite

disagree, LSU and Bama have bigger sidewalk fan bases. No one in their right mind would want to be a member of the cult without actually going to it.

This can only mean one thing, Shaft...
You're done. It's over.

I dare say anyone posting on this stupid arse message board is more "rabid" and "fanatical" or at least "involved" than 75% of alums or sidewalks.

No team has a more fanatical and rabid sidewalk fanbase than UK basketball. It's not even close.

I'd say you are a tweener of alum and total sidewalker. We need to come up with a name for the grey area.

I would agree with that. Bama football second, in the SEC at least.

Well this is a huge lie. Texas is a huge state and both UT and TAMU are littered with sidewalk fans here.
OU and Arkansas alumni are made up of people who could not get into the Flagships here.

btw- sidewalk fans rabble rabble rabble upturned nose rabble rabble.

Texas is a huge state but plenty of the state doesn't care about football. Then Texas has the huge t-shirt population. Not many want to be known as a&m fans unless they went to school at a&m

Their livelihood (s) literally depends on how the football (or basketball for Kentucky) program is doing.
