It already did rise. We just didn't specify that it would be in College football.
This was my other post idea...
South Postpones Rising Again For Yet Another Year

So if we are Yankee's what are people in the South? inbred hillbillies?

From my experience, an that sounds more like mid westerners than people from the northeast.

According to census they are poor, overweight, and heavily dependent on social programs.
IDK...
I was just always baffled why anyone here thought that term would be an insult.

Call us whatever you like, just stop moving down here when you retire.

It's not really an insult. It is just a southern euphemism for a-hole/s.

Go listen to Russillo talk about Baton Rouge gamedays. May be an unfair representation though since I believe he's from New England and Louisianans are the coolest people of any state.

You kind of answered your own question by making this thread

Because people from the north are assholes who don't know how to party

Is it an inferiority complex? I never hear anyone from the North using any old civil war terms to describe people from the South? Are southerners still bitter they lost the war?
I really don't get it.

As an intelligent, well educated man from the South, I've always hated that word. Not because of any connotations the word has. I just usually hear the biggest rednecks use it in a conversation. It just sounds ignorant, especially considering Europeans refer to all Americans as Yankees.

Conversely, if you're from Alabama, you are not intelligent, nor are you well educated.

Nah. Instead you call us such modern terms such as hillbillies, rednecks, racists, and make blanket assumptions regarding our intelligence solely based on our accent.
Glass houses and all.

Probably because most Yankee's ancestors didn't actually fight in the war, they were starving in Europe. Sorry we have a long history attached to geography.

Northerners use Redneck as a cover all for Southerners. Usually not serious but in jest. Southerners use Yankee as a cover all for Northerners. Usually not serious but in jest. I'm glad I could be of service. Have a nice day.

Not an inferiority complex. Being outgunned and outmanned after whooping arse for 2.5 years is nothing to feel inferior about.
Posted on 10/16/15 at 3:11 pm to JesusQuintana
Dang... Do you guys know where it comes from? A bunch of farmers with no army decided to go to war with the most powerful army and navy on earth at the time. So passionate was their desire to win that many times early on they would charge to fight the British without a gun. They would run up to the British soldier and YANK their gun from them. Hence the term, "Yankees". No, it's not an ignorant term. To think of the people who use it as uneducated is to misunderstand the full heritage of where the term derived.

Well that's a strange, unfriendly way to judge before you give them a chance.
