This is a ponzi scheme of a so called """dynasty""".
What exactly are you talking about? Seriously. I would like some details so I know whether or not I should be concerned.

Paying players isn't new dummy. Bama has been spending the most since the 1920s.
Do you believe teams just started buying players last year?
Alabama 2008 class was the most expensive class of all-time prior to A$M's class last year.
The same teams that have dominated recruiting will continue to dominate because those are the teams that have been paying the most prior to NIL.
Alabama was paying 200k for mediocre players in the 90s.

This board will get shittier and shittier as more of these burnt orange pieces of shite filter in here.
I'm going to start putting every poster with Texas ties on ignore. The rest of the real SEC posters should do the same. Shun those bastards. We're too late on Aggy, but there is still time for the shorthorn

Imagine comparing bag money to the assets of major markets, corporations & university collectives in a historical reference vs the current NCAA/NIL world.
It’s not a question of if, rather a question of when the shift in landscape takes place. There are scenarios that could take place that end a few legacy programs & establish others that have never been national powers.
It won’t happen overnight, but follow the money & the long term factors that drive a programs revenue potential. Things will change, some will adapt & others simply will not have the natural assets to sustain their current success.
If there is any debate it centers around one’s definition of short & long term.
Sad but true, $ fricks up everything.

That wraps this thread up real nicely.

I give it ten years, tops, before Texas is kicking and screaming to go to another conference. They should have went to the PAC instead of the SEC.
Will Oklahoma follow them again ? Who knows ? Who cares ? Taking these two into the conference was a huge mistake. One that Mike Slive never made.

If TEXAS USED THEIR money AND bought championships LIKE THEY DO IN THE SEC
Texas has tried to do that for decades. Texas's real problem is their boosters. These big money boosters pay huge amounts to the program and then demand access.
They think because they are pretty good at business (really a lot of them were just at the right place at the right time when they found oil on their property) they know how to run an athletic department. Texas can not throw them out or bar them because of their money.
Bottom line, in the last 50 years the entire State of Texas has 1 National Title in college football (Division 1 not sure about the other divisions)

So all that Oil money just bought you a 8-5 season. Y’all are mediocre and no amount of money will change that.

They don’t. Alabama is done. Sugar Bowl was the last win for at least 8 months. Probably be lucky to average 10.5 wins a year over the next decade. While disappointed, the fan base by and large has come to terms with it.

You really do not understand college football.
Alabama will win at least 3 more NC before Coach Saban retires, and Alabama AVERAGES 1 NC per decade after.
Average 10.5 wins per year after that, sure we will take that long term, which is better than any other team.
That is what the fan base has come to terms with.

That’s a popular theory over here. Doesn’t hold water though. Our best years came with the most helicopter big boosters.
Texas’ failures have come when the University administration gets involved & when their ADept turned into a mini Capitol Hill/D.C..
Poor coaching hires/budgets, focus on revenue without reinvesting into the program & a delusional attempt to become Stanford.
Texas is not an oil money program either, the University & it’s PUF/AUF is but that’s unrelated to athletics.

You can compete with Texas and Ohio St in the short term, but long term Bama is screwed .
Why is Texas running away from the Big 12 when other Big 12 teams keep winning the division and getting in the playoff? Texas is struggling right now.

Free wins against Mizzou, Arky, A&M. Much easier than playing teams like TCU

Leave it to the broke arse safe space school to play “checkers”.
Here’s the chess match pawn:
ESPN/ABC parted ways with the B10. Texas & then OU by default were told what to do when ESPN & the SEC found common needs.
Texas is the bigge$t entity in the college game & it doesn’t have anything to do with on the field success.

Everybody……this is the shite you invited to join the SEC!
The most narcissist, self absorbed, delusional school/fan base in all of college football!!
That reply alone is absolutely laughable lol
