Trask is padding his stats because the Florida defense is awful.

So, he’s not really padding his stats then, right? He’s staying in so Florida can win the game.

They still don't get it.

Florida's offense has 40 passing touchdowns and six rushing touchdowns.

Harris, their running back, had half of the rushing touchdown production that our team has had the entire season, in one game.

The Florida defense is bad, the offense can't rush, so Trask has to consistently throw into 7/8 man boxes for the entire game and win the game on his arm alone.

Mac literally just has to hand the ball off and Alabama will win, everything else he does is just icing on the cake. He has an all-star offensive line, one of the best running backs in the country and five star receivers all around him.

Trask has an okay offensive line, no rushing threat and a defense that would struggle to catch a cold in a pandemic. He is simply winning the game for us, and fortunately can read defenses and get the right guy the ball at the right time.

This somehow makes Alabama angry.

There are a few Bammers that know what’s going on. The rest are just trying to rustle our Jorts. We patiently explain what’s going on but a few either don’t get it or don’t care.

UFs defense isn't stellar and our RB's had 11 carries for like 7 yards

but it isn't only to keep Jones healthy, but also to prepare Young for next year since it appears that Mac will be NFL bound.

Then why don’t they do that? Very uninformed take and I’m trying to be kind.

Without Mackknife's passing abilities, there would be a lot of struggles in the running game! That said, K. Trask has obviously been given more opportunities to pad his stats than Mackknife has. D. Mullens wants a Heisman QB in Gainesville, fla to attract the best QB recruits in the nation. Secondly, it gives fla added exposure and Mullens is milking it for all he can! K. Trask is the perfect Cinderella story and that helps his status in the eyes of the Heisman voters. MACKKNIFE is certainly deserving should be take home the award as is Trask! I'll be happy if either one wins the award. Just don't believe it should go to T.Lawrence or J. Fields!

While on the subject, doesn't D. Smith, Najee Harris & k. Pitts deserve equal attention among the Heisman voters ?

I say it's a resounding yes! That could hurt M. Jones and K.Trask's chances, but it's only fair!

I doubt that. I don't know of any source that provides number of snaps per player but there are lots of sources for number of pass attempts. According to ncaa.com Jones has 255 pass attempts and Trask has 322 ncaa.com

so my guess is that your 2nd team qb has less snaps than Alabama's 2nd team guy.

Bigger question is how many would Mac have if he was at Florida? With no rushing game and shitty oline. Bama has a good running game and oline to give him plenty of time. Not saying Mac isn’t good just saying Trask doing more with less at UF.

This, Florida is doing all they can to get him the numbers.. but as of now Mac is leading in Heisman and is likely to hold on to it until SEC Championship.

Performance over Stats matters. Jones played better than Trask last night.

Trask usually gets pulled in the 1st and 2nd half. If Mullen were trying to pad his stats, he probably wouldn't play Emory Jones in the middle of a drive that Trask has started during the games.

you got me curious about that so I searched it and according to vegasinsider.com you are right

2020 HEISMAN TROPHY ODDS CONTENDERS
(School) Odds

Mac Jones (Alabama) -135
Kyle Trask (Florida) +110
Justin Fields (Ohio State) +2000
Trevor Lawrence (Clemson) +2000

LINK

edit to say that though I am a Mac Jones fan I think it should go to Devonta Smith (+3000)

You don't need to be kind, you just have to realize that he is able to take advantage of 1 on 1 coverage. Really, he doesn't even need to be accurate. You have an NFL WR going up against an SEC DB, sometimes NFL, most of the time not.

Look no further than when you guys played none other than...Tennessee.

My goodness.

Zero Touchdown passes, 5 rushing Touchdowns.

Ole Miss?

2 passing Touchdowns, 7 rushing.

Point is, Mac has it made in the shade sitting behind a nice cushy offensive line while his running backs get 5.1 yards a carry and throwing into simple coverages.

frick, imagine if Trask wasn't throwing into 7/8 man coverages every single down. He may be throwing 80% (he's only ~4% shy of Mac right now) if all he had to do was throw it to the single covered guy every single down.

How well would Mac play with no running game and not much time in the pocket throwing into 7/8 man coverages every play? Perhaps fine, but we'll never know because Bama's o-line and is so good.

How well would Trask do with an elite running game and o-line? Obviously no worse, but his stats would be down a bit.

It's really not hard to see both POV's if you're not being biased.

Trask and Mac are both playing as well as they possibly can given their situations.

Trask just has a significantly tougher hand dealt to him every game. I think this is the way most view it outside of Bama fans.

We did not get VANDY, SCAR or even Florida to pad stats and rest injured players.

So, please! Don't come at us again with worries over your running game.. Merlin's wants that Heisman more than k. Trask or any fla fan does! Believe that!
