Probably because Texas sends their best QB's to the SEC and the Fantasy Football (aka Big12)pays the SEC refs to frick aggy.

Off subject somewhat but I remember a safety in the pros that took pride in hurting defenseless receivers coming over the middle of the field. I don't remember his name but football is a rough sport.

I don't like to see players hurt, but when a players running to make a tackle I like to see him lower the boom. They're not out there trying to be as gentle as they can. It's one reason they should get the best insurance available.

Pretty soon when a runningback like Fournette is approaching a DB at full speed who's job it is to stop him, they need to just blow the whistle before he gets hurt. That or make it mandatory he has a spin move.

It was a vicious hit, not dirty, mind you, it should have been called, it would have had zero effect on the ballgame.

You being serious? You really can't see the white stripe hit the face mask first?

Nobody is saying your team didn't deserve to win. Why can't you admit the replay officials got the call wrong?

Well, like me he still has his crimson glasses on so the white stripe looks pinkish red.

Bama needs to narrow that stripe down to a fine line.

I'm glad the refs have those special contacts we pay them to wear. It's to protect their eyes, ya know.

I can't wait till the LSU game. I really really hope Bama gets some sketch call go their way...so we can all listen to the tinfoil hat brigade complain about it for years. And I especially hope that the call comes at a point in the game when we really can't tell yet who is going to win. That will make it all the sweeter when you bunch of nutjobs come on here complaining after we beat that ars.

I don't think it was a black helicopter call, but just a bad judgment call based on today's rules.

What sucks is just a few years ago we would all be like DAMN!!!! Speedy got his arse Trucked!!!

Yes it was. They don't have to stop play for them to review it.

He's not calling anything against Bama.
He easily could have said judged that the A&M player caught the ball out of bounds, but he didn't overturn the call on the field. Led to an A&M TD.

Serious question, has Alabama been called for targeting once all season?
Not that I can remember, but I also can't think of another instance where they should have been.

That could have been called. We'll probably get a make up call go against us, but he could have really launched upward and damn near decapitated him if he'd been out to do so. He's gonna be one hell of a linebacker in a year or two.

What's a kid to do when ESPN shows a play like USCe defensive end knock the helmet off the boy at Michigan State in the Bowl Game? It helped him go 1st in the draft.

Auburn fans will get mad at me for saying this but we kept Ruben Foster off the field until he learned to stop ALWAYS leading with his head. The kid was gonna kill himself or someone else. He would have played from day 1 at Auburn. Of course we had enough good LB's that we could do that. They would have needed him day 1.

The exception was against LSU on kick coverage with Fournette running back the kick, little time left and we needed to stop him.

I'd gladly trade him sitting the bench the rest of the year if we could get Eddie Jackson back. Lost him for the rest of the year and no one was at fault. A&M wasn't trying to break legs that I could tell.

It wasn't called targeting for a few reasons
1. Player isn't considered defenseless there
2. He didn't launch
3. He pretty much made a form tackle out it as he was taking his hat across rather then through the player

That being said, we SHOULD make that kind of hit a penalty as its extroidinarily dangerous for both players. There's problaby 20+ times a game you see LB and DB's come flying in and launch head first which should also be flagged to remove that style of "big hit" play from the game. I have no doubt we see kick offs and possible punts removed from the game at some point over liability risk

Any other player on any other team would have been tossed for that play and all of you gumps know it.

Actually, two weeks ago that douche No. 12 for the Ags had basically the same hit (although he's a pussy so it wasn't as devastating as Mack's) on Evan Berry and nothing was called. So, no, you're incorrect.
