Why didn't Tenn have to play Vandy twice?

Vandy only lost once and beat Tenn. earlier. Why didn't Vandy get a chance to play again? I thought double elimination should be the rule.

SEC Baseball Tournament is a hybrid event.
Single elimination on Tuesday.
Double elimination Wednesday-Friday.
Single elimination Saturday & Sunday.
I have thought this format is dumb and dumber. Why? Way too long and it uses up all your pitching if you keep winning. Thus you see teams utilize their seldom used pitchers during the Tournament.
Next year thankfully they are going to a single elimination tournament for all sixteen teams. The maximum number of games you will play is four (and that is only two teams). It will be much better as I think you will see a much better effort from each team to win.
LSU will be playing their fifth game tomorrow. And it is possible that a team will play six games in the current format.

Single elimination is a terrible format for a sport with so much game-to-game variability like baseball. However it does appear that the current format is not conducive to high-level effort from teams already assured of their postseason seeding
I agree that the 16-team single elimination format will improve that, if not slightly cheapening the accomplishment of winning the tournament

I agree. But it just seems like Vandy should not of had to play a team that it had already beaten and then eliminated by that team with only one loss. Just saying. This format isn't truly fair. To much at stake now to use your best on a short rest when you are playing in a regional. Why would a good team want to play this deep into the SEC tourney?

Hasn't Tennessee played one more Game than lsu ? They lost one game and lsu didn't. So we're playing our 5th and they're playing there sixth I believe

New to Hoover? The semis are single elimination.
