Y'all had the number 2 offense in the country and the kid was a Heisman finalist. How much dumber do you want to look in this thread?

Yeah I know. Poking holes in trolls and making people continue to say stupid things is fun for me. I'm juvenile that way.

Why did OU only dominate during the AP era and is unable to win a real national championship after they won their first in 2000.

wrong answer. From 1958 to 2003 LSU was 6th in the conference in winning pct, behind
Alabama
Tennessee
Florida
Georgia
Auburn

Lol, you guys put some serious effort into arguing about crap that doesn't matter at all.
I'm so glad I don't do the whole attaching my self worth to the success of my football team thing.

The 60s and 70s can be explained by the Bryant program at Alabama. Hell, that caused several quality programs in the region to languish even if they didn’t play them every year. Sucked up all the recognition and signed all the best recruits.
80s, I believe they hired a promising head coach but he died in a plane crash or car wreck before he coached game.
90s was mostly on the feet of Dinardo never putting it together on the field despite improving recruiting.
Just outside looking in but that is how it read to me…
Well I must say, that is a very accurate read. Well done. I will also add Bo Rein was a young up and coming coach. I remember when LSU hired him, CBS NFL Today with Brent Musburger, the late Irv Cross and Jimmy the Greek actually mentioned LSU hiring him. Stovall was up and down in his 4 years, and LSU hired Bill Arnsparger in 1984 from the NFL. He was as good a football coach as LSU ever had, only matched by Saban (talking about football IQ). He was the DC on the 1972 17-0 Dolphins From 1984 to 1986, 2 time SEC coach of the year, 1 SEC title and a few close calls in 84 and 85 from winning it 3 years in a row.
90's Hallman era and as you saw, DiNardo recruited well, product on field did not match talent level.

I came into my fandom as a kid when Hallman was here. Those were rough years. It looked like DiNardo had righted the ship for awhile, but it came crashing down. We have been pretty damn good the last 20 years.
We may be 6th or 7th (it doesn't matter) between some random and arbitrary timeframe, but I have seen 3 National Championships in my adult life. Not many fanbases can say that.

Serious question to the Sooner fans. Will you be happier not making the playoff every year and winning a bowl game or making the playoff and getting skull drug like every other year?

OU and even scrub arse Texas has a winning record against all of you for the most part.
Cool. I remember when Mizzou had an all time winning record against the most accomplished SEC program when they joined the conference too. Good times!

Dear God, how could you forget Joe Dean's Prize coach Curley Hallman. Hallman single handedly wrecked LSU for a decade. Dinardo actually started us back in the right direction from the abyss before taking a step back.
