And yet he could have went to UK, gotten way more exposure if that's possible, been playing for the SEC title, and a possible run in the NCAA tourney. Wonder if he second guesses his decision at this point?
Yea he could be killing it with Skal right now. Wait.

He could be getting passes from Ulis and freedom to roam with Murray knocking down j's.

He should have gone to UK so that Ullis and Murray could carry him to the tournament? I'm sure he'd feel so much better about that.
LSU basketball had high expectations because of Ben Simmons. They didn't meet those expectations because of Ben Simmons.

He should have went to UK to be surrounded by good players. He would have fit the dribble drive much better than whatever the hell JJ runs. Just sayin'

The oops from Ulis would've been insane. And he'd be playing defense.

You talk like LSU didn't have the talent to stay on the floor with UK.

OK... let's try it this way. Cal would have made him a better player than JJ did. Plus, he would be geared for a solid run in the tourney... all the while not being criticized for disappearing in games. He would have been pushed to play defense. He would not be allowed to sulk when it's a tough night. The same questions will be asked in a few months when he is meeting NBA GMs. Why would he not go to UK? Competition? Fear of being overshadowed by others? Not being the "man?" He better start working on them answers.

Simmons wouldn't go to UK because Duke was his #2.
Cal gets a pass for Skal, but we should be convinced he would have Simmons playing like Lebron. Ok

You act like Cal has produced busts every year

Or Cousins... or Davis....or KA Towns...
come on dude... time to realize that Simmons punted on his college choice. Still likely the overall #1 but when we look back it's going to be "what could have been..."

Are you willing to admit Terrance Ferguson punted on his college choice? Surely he will never reach the same level of team success at Bama as he would at Kansas or UNC.

Willing to admit Simmons is a great player that could have played on a better team, been more prepared for the NBA, and been playing in the NCAA tourney the one year he was in college rather than watching it on the tv.
I wish him well. He made his choice and I can't argue with that. Just would liked to have seen him play in college when it really matters. That's all.

Or he went to LSU so he could do whatever he wanted, not be challenged by a tough coach, and not have his draft status hurt.
It was basically a win-win for him by going to LSU. If LSU was going to make a deep run into the tourney, it was going to be all because of Simmons. If LSU was going to crash and burn (as they have done), all of the blame was going to fall on Johnny Jones and not Simmons.

Simmons effort on the court in several games should be discussed. Blame it on JJ if you want but when does Simmons man up? He, and those around him, are just as responsible as JJ for the shortcomings this season.

He wanted to vacation in March.

Nah. Just like Anthony Davis, Demarcus Cousins, Karl Anthony Towns, Terrence Jones, Julius Randle, etc.
The guy got Josh Harrellson to the NBA and you think he couldn't make Simmons the best player he could be on the college level in one season?
