Why can't Arkansas recruit at a high level?

The pigs always have to feast on two and three star guys. They should be able to feast on leftover 4 star guys from Texas and lock down their own high school guys in Arkansas. I have to give em credit for development because they had probably the best offensive mind in football (at least in the passing game). Arkansas is in trouble without Bobby because they won't be able to out talent anyone.

Because it's Arkansas. They have to go outside the state for talent, similar to Tennessee.

If this isn't a troll you have to look at their home state.
It's small and doesn't develop a lot of talent. Plus, they are surrounded by Texas, Texas AM, LSU, OU and a few others. Not the best situation to be in. IN fact, I'd say it's probably the hardest situation in the country as far as recruiting goes. They've done a pretty damn good job looking at it that way.

True but a top ten team should be recruiting at a higher level than what they have. UT while not hauling in top classes like Fulmer and Kiffin have done very well imo recruiting out of state. I don't understand why the Hogs can't haul in top 15 classes.

Going forward I think recruits will jump at the chance to practice on top of a parking garage.

Pretty much proves that rankings don't mean shite most of the time. If so, Texas and Fla State would be in the middle of a 20 year dynasty. It also means that stars are assigned most of the time by which schools are recruiting a player, not necessarily (and completely) by how good that player is. Bobby wasn't that good of a recruiter obviously, but what i did like about our recruiting during his tenure was that were were going into places in the east and west that we have never been before.

Arkansas has only signed four 2* postion players in the last four classes. One didn't even make it to campus, one has been kicked off the team, one was part of a package deal to get who is now our starting DT and the other is our starting FB.
Get your shite straight, we feast on 5.7 three stars and 4-5 four stars a class.

It isn't a troll, it's a reasonable question. Bobby has not left a lot of talent for the next coach. If I were a pig fan I would be very worried about the future. I kind of pity them after losing a coach like Petrino. That really sucks for them. I don't think it's unreasonable for them to do a much better job in recruiting though. Maybe the next coach will be able to change that.

aTm and MSU are really bringing the heat for the players in this region that are sec caliber, but we don't have room for. Recent examples include but aren't limited to:
Floyd raven
Dillon day
Dak Prescott
Josh Robinson
They have had success with players like that, when trey land them, such as:
Jericho Nelson
Otha peters

If we make a good hire, maybe we can get there. Right now we don't have a long term coach yet we're doing pretty much ok with recruiting which is really all you could ask for. As far as Bobby, he's a good coach but lots of folks thought he was a dick, I'm sure that didn't help matters. All that plus the other stuff that's been mentioned as far as state size etc and there ya have it.
