Auburn has had good luck in the last few years getting good talent out of Arkansas. Kodi Burns, Lee Ziemba and Mike Dyer all are Arkansans. Dyer made his 2010 contribution, then went full retard, but Burns and Ziemba were 4 year starters. Ziemba is now in the pros.

Well, when Texas Florida, Louisiana, Bama, and Georgia are producing 100+ D1 players each year who grew up watching/loving those SEC schools, Arkansas is over here with our <10 BCS caliber kids per year.

That said, it isn't like we are getting crap recruits. What you see as a 3* on rivals could be a 5.7 rating...meaning just .1 away from being a 4*, and in reality, probably have never been looked at by evaluators in order to get that .1 bump.

I do agree Rivals/ESPN/Scout do a good job overall in that top recruiting teams are usually the best teams in the nation, but some times it is a chicken-egg situation. Does ESPN really want to state that Wake Forest (insert any bad team here) had a top 15 recruiting class, when the on-field results aren't there? That would make them look foolish. They also really pump up the high markets, which is why USC, Florida, BAMA/AU, LSU will never have horrible (in terms of what you see Arkansas at ) recruiting classes. There is too much money to make in order to keep these markets frenzied.

I really liked Burns. An unselfish player and great teammate. That is what college ball is all about. Wish there where more guys like him.

Used to watch him in High School against my team. He was an amazing QB. He looked like Cam Newton out there.

Yep. He appeared to be the answer at QB for Auburn early on but when it appeared that he just could not get it done in the SEC as a QB he unselfishly moved to WR and made an impact as a player and leader. I really liked this kid.

Burns always impressed me. Very few people can do what he did. Lots of respect for the kid. Glad he got his touchdown against Oregon.

Ziemba was all Auburn growing up as his Grandparents and parents all went to AU. He was only "from" Arkansas because that's where his dad's job took him. Burns parents saw through Nutt trying to accuse Auburn recruiters of playing the race card and told him to shove it. As for Dyer........never mind.

Even though he wasn't highly recruited he dominated at our camp

I did see where hogs got a commitment from a kid out of Forrest City. His other offers were
Ouchita, Harding, UAPB, and was getting a look from Ark St.
Kid blew up in our camp this summer to earn an offer. I'll have to trust the staff on this one.

Beat me in Gladius.

Just Cam. The guy is over-rated as a coach. He really sucked it up last year.

He showed up at camp and was impressive. Traveled around with family who is in the military. Just got back from Germany last year.

To be fair, he did get Tyler Wilson to commit to Tulsa before Petrino pulled him to Arkansas.

If I remember correctly Burns played Tubb's last year and then they had a white guy(can't remember name) Chiz's first year then Cam. So technically he wasn't a Malzahnite QB.

That kid has played in 7 organized football games in his entire life. This time last year he was going to his first practices ever. He wasn't even on the coaches radar before camp and came in and absolutely dominated. Similar story to Jaylon Denson at Auburn two years ago.
