Why aren't we talking about the SEC's real dumpster fire?

I mean its funny and all that LSU fans thought Coach O was decent, but when he is fired in two years whoever they hire after him will take his recruits and look somewhat competitive. They are facing a few years in the wilderness at best. Same situation for say Auburn or A&M too.
Mizzou on the other hand is completely fricked. Gary Pinkel had the program running like a top when they moved to the SEC, and after an adjustment period they found a way to win the division twice. If the program could have built on that and leveraged those SEC East titles to a top 20 recruiting class (without cheating Ole Miss style) then they possibly could have changed the program forever.
But not long after Gary's success they had the whole protest thing happen, and Gary decided to walk away rather than pick of the pieces. At that exact moment Mizzou needed a splash hire worse than any SEC team in recent memory to save some of the momentum from those division winning years, but instead they went the easy route and decided to allow a guy to learn how to be a head coach on their watch.
The end result is the program has cratered, all of Gary's momentum is lost, and there is no hope to get back to that level let alone exceed it. Even worse the nearby Big 10 looks great right now meaning that Mizzou will have to fight harder for its recruits in it own back yard.
I feel for Tiger fans, it would be hard to be hopeful about your program if you were in their shoes.

I think week 4 for LSU is the decision making point for whether O gets to week 5. That was the rule with Miles.

Well, they've only given up 2 sacks through 3 games. So that's a bright spot.

Yeah. Don't count Miles' 8 Years of no QB development or anything..

Regarding the coaching hire, I think we got screwed by an AD with one foot out the door. Also, after the protests, its hard to know who would have been interested in the program.
Its hard to be a Mizzou fan right now. It will probably take a new coach and several years to rebuild at this point.
Its sad to see all of GPs work go down the drain. Its also sad to see such crap on the field.

So what you're saying is that it's not good to be a Tiger fan right now? Or a Tiger fan right now? Or a Tiger fan right now?

Because Mizzou and Ole Miss fans already knew they were up shite creek for now.
LSU fans refused to admit it.

I mean, yall will probably bottom out at something like a six win season in the O era.
Poor Mizzou might be looking at missing a bowl this year. It is a whole different level of suck.

Are you Olin Buchanan? I notice that twerp has written this article on TexAgs: "LSU proves fool's gold in Starkville beat down"
Small-minded aggy will always point the finger in a different direction.

Mizzou fans were pretty pumped about BO at first. Calling him the chosen son, "Who is Barry Odom?" etc.
And frankly he was a good coordinator. Twenty years ago he would have been a good hire for Mizzou on paper.
The problem is it isn't 20 years ago, and no SEC job except maybe Vandy should be the first head coaching job for anyone.
Mizzou needed to step up and hire someone with a proven head coaching record. They didn't and their program will be set back decades because of that.

Payback? So does that means I have to start subscribing to Orangebloods?

Wait, did they move Missou from the East to the West when I wasn't looking?
If they are still in the East, they CAN remain hopeful.

Auburn lost to the number 2 team by 8 and we are lost in the woods? Interesting.

Just you wait until Locktober comes around.
