Texas players are terrible.
I bet if I review various rosters from other states, I’d find that foreign teams never recruit from the Lone Star.

Mensa, Skrong, Sumlin and Jimbo are all washed out second tier coaches who won't get a second look at places like Alabama, OSU and OU.
For Aggies, their traditions are obstacles.
Who in a right mind wants to play in front of male cheerleaders milking imaginary cows? Even the players who go there are exasperated with all those weirdness and start second guessing their commitment to the program. The fanbase that worship Garrett and Manziel, and partake in weirdness hinder the A&M atheltics so much so that they havent been able to get any significant hardwares in 80 plus years. They had to invent championships to make themselves look respectable in the SEC where there are so many storied programs and winning traditions.
For Texas, they just think they are better than rest. I know its funny but they get beat badly each year by the likes of OU, KSU and recently TCU and Baylor. They are snobs. Let them think they are better than the rest while their program stands in ruin.

another recent poster who claims a school that A&M rarely plays, but all of his posts are about A&M.

Shocked to see something like this on this site.

Correct. There's nothing wrong with the talent in the state of TX. They go out of state because of the perpetual dumpster fires that are the state's premier programs.

4 and 5 star linebackers over the last 10 classes from the State of Texas:

2011 - 6 (1 5-star, 5 4-star)
2012 - 5 (4-star)
2013 - 3 (4-star)
2014 - 6 (4-star)

-----------------------------

2015 - 3 (1 5-star, 2 4-star)
2016 - 3 (4-star)
2017 - 2 (4-star)
2018 - 3 (4-star)
2019 - 2 (1 5-star, 1 4-star)
2020 - 2 (4-star)

What happened between 2014 and 2015 to cause such a precipitous, continuous drop in linebacker talent in Texas? (This is not rhetorical. I truly do not know the answer)

Of A&M's 7 current linebackers, only 2 are from Texas. We have linebackers from Washington DC, Alabama, Tennessee, Florida and Pennsylvania. The two in the 2020 class are from Louisiana and Illinois.

The snobbery and big-hat arrogance is supposed to come after accomplishment, not before. That's their problem. Hell it's the culture of the entire state.

Look at the Dallas Cowboys. It's present there too. That franchise is owned and run by a big mouthed, big-hat, arrogant, incompetent, Texas turd.

How many D1 programs are there in the state? That talent gets spread out, not to mention Saban, O and other big programs raiding the state. Talent pool is diluted.

Also, Bama broke Texas 10 years ago.

This. “We’re elite because we’re Texas” isn’t going to fly anymore with Texas recruits who see through their arrogance while schools like OU, LSU, Alabama, OSU etc are actually putting in the work to recruit and develop them and build or maintain an elite culture.

LSU knows they can’t rely on the success of 2003-2008 to continue recruiting at an elite level. They are doing what they have to do to return to the top tier and recruits see it.

Because OU has cherry picked the best talent out of the state and out-coached the entire state for three generations.

Slow down trailer boy.

Jerry is an Arky boy, regardless he has billions, a top 5 franchise in the world and a few of those rings.

The state of Texas produces the second most GDP & 10x's that of Oklahoma. I'd say those folks earned the arrogance.

7-on-7 made all those Texas high school teams soft

I do believe aTm and Texas are soft. For aTm, I saw some players elevating performance last year. I did not see that happen this year. It's part of that winning mentality Jimbo wants to instill. It hasn't happened. I couldn't tell you why UT isn't better. I see them performing like Pac 12 schools in California. They must have their minds on other things. I also think with states surrounding Texas and all the large in-state programs, these two schools don't always get numbers of the best players in Texas. Why did Baylor find itself in the dumpster a couple of years ago and compete this year? The coaches are instilling a winning mentality and the players obviously get it.

Tau won a championship in 2013 and Ucf won a championship in 2017. So that's 2 recent championships for the state of Florida.
