Why are NFL games on CBS bearable but SEC games torture?

The production quality of SEC CBS games are shite. I don’t need to see a close up of the QB’s chin strap, I don’t give a frick about the sideline reporter’s canned feel good story and the commercials, ridiculous amount of commercials during quarters 1, 2 and 3.

The the production of NFL games are much better.

CBS, please fire your SEC production team. They are terrible.

Because of the contract the NFL has with CBS.

SEC needs the same commercial/commercial break and game time limitations the NFL demands

The commercials suck, but the production is probably right behind ABC's primetime game in terms of quality.

Because Gary uses the commercial breaks to run down from the box and blow Saban.

If they ever get around to dumping Gary and limit the commercials just slightly, they’d blow ABC away. That’s the big difference to me between the two.

Yeah the production isn't bad and they do a great job at stats and informational bits.

But my God the commercials...

I’m not talking about Gary. Sure he’s bad but the production quality in terms of game flow sucks. However for the NFL it’s not near as bad. They don’t put an emphasis on canned sideline reporting over plays on the field. There seems to be a lot less commercials for NFL games and the games go quicker. CBS production quality just sucks for the SEC.

I much rather watch SEC games on any other network.

Romo is the best thing to happen to NFL broadcasting in a long time.

NFL games on CBS sucks too. The coverage on CBS only probably comes across better to you because the Saints usually get the CBS A-team coverage on their games. If you had to deal with the CBS B and C teams on a weekly basis, you would hate their coverage.

I agree, he's not sterile like all the rest. You can tell he actually enjoys being a spectator of the sport.

Cause Gary is distracted by pictures of Saban in a thong while he’s calling a game. It’s obvious

Preach on, brother. Didn't get 60-inch HD TV to have it filled by a face. Don't need constant cut aways to a coach. Any coach. I'd rather see how the defense is setting up. But I can't b/c I'm being treated to a close up of the quarterback's chin strap. Or a coordinator setting in a coaching booth.

NFL is very strict about games starting at the scheduled time and ending when expected.
