Why are fans of other SEC teams pulling for the Gators?

I understand loyalty to your conference, but I don't know a single Longhorn fan pulling for an OU win.

The SEC lovefest is out of control during bowl season. Some of the responses to the Franks comments exemplify this. It seems like every SEC fan wants to j*%k Tebow off.

I think the SEC teams generally just have more loyalty to their conference than the Big 12 or the other BCS conferences. If the SEC is really good, it makes LSU look better.

Theres a difference between homosexuality and respect. Tebow is the best player in college football bar none. Franks just pissed Tebow off so I add a touchdown for Florida. They'll win by 2 touchdowns.

SEC teams are like step-brothers. We want to whip their asses most of the time. When another conference fricks with them, we have their back!

Obviously, but that doesn't mean you automatically root for a hated in-conference rival.

Whoa there buddy...the rest of us claim that Tebow plays with little boy pee-pee's in third world countries 99.9% of the time. We are just giving it a break for a day.

We rally around our own when a loss for them doesnt do anything for us, other than make us look worse for losing to them in the regular season. All year long the Big 12 has been touted as the replacement to the SEC as super conference. Well, most of us think our brand is better, and voice that opinion when given the chance.

I hate the Gators as much as anyone...but hope they steamroll the Sooners.

Yes, as much as I wanted Saban to lose... I still pulled for Bama to win!

We in the SEC take great pride in ALL aspects of your football. UF Football this year represents where all SEC football teams work to attain which is dominating defense and with a fast athletic offense that dominates. Just look at the last 2 BCS National Championship teams and this years Florida team, they are almost carbon copies of each other with how they win. OU has a great team but Florida will expose their defense with Tebow and UF's defense will slow the OU offensive machine.

Florida by 17 points if not more.

OU and the Big 12 are a legit threat to conference dominace, or at least preceived conference superiority.

Conference strength is important, if you don't see that you're a douche.

pay attention, rookie. until they give us a playoff system, it is essential to portray your conference as the "best" in the nation year after year. so, we pull for our conference for two reasons:

1- just because of southern pride
2- because we need to keep that reputation so that we can continue to get respect when it comes to bowl bids (especially the bcsnc)
