I absolutely was pulling for them. And, genuinely felt sorry for that gutwrenching ending.
But, let's not get carried away with our own expectations of any game being "stepped up." Hiring another mid major coach du jour is not indicative of having truly invested in meaningful change

Slipped past an overmatched 13 seed in the first round of the tourney and lost by 30+ in the round of 32 to Clemson. Hang your hat on that split regular season conf title though. Meanwhile, I'll go grab my "44-16 but still made the finals shirt."
