This right here. This is why people hate you.
I just wandered in to this thread, not really giving much of a frick about Mizzou and what do I see?
Poorly worded, ill-timed and tragically unoriginal inbreeding jokes. And to top it all off, you use the wrong words in context while calling other people stupid.
And you still can't figure out why no one likes you? You're a fricking dog dropping and you give the good Mizzou posters a bad name.
If you don't like how you're treated here, either learn to be a better poster or frick the hell off.

So Ole Miss gets a pass for constantly sucking because they are in the heart of Dixie?
I wouldn't say Ole Miss ever 'gets a pass,' mainly because we always make fun of them.
If they do it's because they're a founding member of then conference.

Back before the last expansion when rumors were being thrown on out on everyone joining the SEC I made the same argument about Texas joining the SEC. Just because they border the SEC doesn't mean they would fit into the SEC. Not a fan of A&M either but they are a better fit than UT.
Mizzou just doesn't fit.
Let's see so far OP has talked about inbreeding and the KKK in the south and wonders why they don't fit in.

My Missouri complaints....
I've lived in St. Louis for 2 years and this is definitely a pro sports town. Plus they are confused about how to cheer for a proper university. You see shirts, flags, and stickers from schools ranging from Mizzou, Kansas, Illinois, to Indiana. (Makes me sick)
They have Fox Sports Midwest (Which really pisses me off!)
You can't get a decent sweet tea unless you track down a Chickfila or a Cracker Barrel.
They have MORE snow than Kentucky.
There is a certain nasal quality in the voices of the locals.
You can get shot in St. Louis just going to get the mail.
+1 for all the beer options.
I have always considered Kentucky to be the only Southern state that didn't secede. Plain and simple.
Oh and you should realize that Indiana is actually the center of support for the KKK. Not going to google that at work but I'm pretty sure.

Dude, just stop. You're making it worse for the rest of us.

You make a valid point about St. Louis. Definitely not Southern. Also, not representative of the rest of Missouri. They have a distinct northeastern influence.

Although Mizzou sports are gaining in popularity in the state, Missouri as a whole is a pro sports state.

Mizzou_ATL...here is a gift to you from The University of Tennessee's own John C. Hodges. You could obviously use one.

For me, it goes back to when your school president Buddy Denton and OU's president David Boren, flew to College Station (there are pictures to verify) for the purpose of talking our president, Dr Bowtie, out of going to the SEC.
The OU aircraft flew back to Columbia and then to Norman.
It is well known that the SEC was not your first choice. You wanted to go the Big 10 but they didn't want you.
Later you begged to join the SEC and you were allowed, because the SEC needed an even number of teams and you guys were the only ones available.
A&M always wanted to join the SEC, Missouri did not.
Case closed. You're here and we are required to deal with you.

When you post things like the Confederate Battle Flag (why use this flag and not one of the other 5 flags the Confederacy used that don't incite claims of racism) you're damn right we don't fit in. We aren't Southern, we're Texan.
Look I understand Southern pride and such, but you basically blow your entire point out of the water by using that specific flag.

Truth.
Not saying Texas doesn't have its share of folks who fly the stars n' bars, but Texas flags and Texan pride are far more ubiquitous in the Lone Star State, and I like it that way.

lulz - oh the irony.
And you wonder why some of you fricktards do not fit in around this conference.
That's some a-typical Big Ten bullshite response to why the SEC is always kicking their asses ... and you just played it on the SECr?
Not only are you a fricktard, you're a dumass of a fricktard.

It is also well known that Mizzou was interested in the B1G until they asked about our thoughts on "junior membership." We said we had no interest in that and the talks stopped there. There was no offer from the B1G and Mizzou didn't pursue an offer after that point.
Mizzou had been in subtle talks with the SEC since the early 90s and some say back to the 70s. The SEC offers way too much athletically and academically to pass up for Mizzou. Our chancellor was on the radio the other day talking about all the increased research $$$ flowing into the university from SEC connections, specifically regarding green technology research. He also said the SEC leads the country in green technology research.

Lighten up Francis, its called humor. I also said I didn't want UT in and A&M was a better fit.
I used to live about an hour away from College Station and I saw more racist stuff on trucks while living there than I ever did in Baton Rouge or even over in MS.
You don't have to lecture me on TX pride. My last name is right down on the bottom of the Texas Decleration of Independence and on the monument at San Jacinto because he was only 1 of 10 men who both signed the declearation and fought at the battle of San Jacinto. Been a lifelong member of the SRT and my grandmother for a period of time ran the DRT which administers the Alamo.
