Nobody except a few crazy talk show and internet Bama fans will be talking about firing Saban if he loses tomorrow. You know that but just want to act like all us crazy bammers will be calling for Saban's head if he loses this game. Saban could go 2-10 this season and 90% of Bama fans and the administration wouldn't have one thought of firing the man.
and the same can be said for Georgia
I don't agree. I know UGA has the whole Richt is a great man crowd, but if he goes 4-8 there would be more than 10% of the UGA fanbase clamoring for a change.

He loses this game and it is just another in a long line of failures on the big stage with few if any victories.
Just not true.
I don't mean he has never won a big game. I mean he has never been able to win that one extra game to get UGA to the big stage (national title game). He always loses a game he shouldn't or gets beat in a big game when winning that game would push UGA to the next level. Look the man is a very good coach, but even UGA fans have to admit there is just something holding him back from taking UGA to where Bama has been the last 8 years. Do any of you honestly think Saban couldn't have come to UGA 8 years ago and had similar success to what he has had at Bama?

From a coaching perspective, I think there is more pressure on Richt. Good guy, but that only gets you so far if you can't find a way to win the big ones. And yes, that blackout game in '08 was terrible. Saban, right or wrong, will write his own ticket where ever he wants to be regardless of what happens this year at Bama. The same cannot be said for Richt, IMO.
For this season though, the pressure is on Bama for tomorrow. This is arguably an elimination game for them. Win, they are still alive in the west. Lose, they are likely done (pending Ole Miss and LSU don't crumble which is possible). In the scenario Bama loses tomorrow, we'll get to see if the coaching staff and players are worth their salt being out of contention so early in the season.

I disagree. CMR just has to play a good game. If he avoids a beatdown he's fine. Saban has to win. Pressure is on Saban.

Pressure's on Georgia. If you guys can't do it now, with Bama down below its recent trend, and with the east just begging to be taken, when will you do it?
Saban has a doomsday worth of goodwill built up. Guy is untouchable.
ETA: But to that point, Georgia's still in contention. But you guys will never mentally arrive at the top if you can't win this type of game.

So if Bama loses, you think they are still in contention for the West?

Richt by a mile. Even with a loss, Bama backs in the new playoff, becoming the first team in with two losses.
See 2011,2012 and 2014 seasons for validation.

What does that have to do with these coaches relative to pressure? Didn't you guys win a NC with two losses?

Richt. And it's not close.

Pressure is on Bama, big time. If they drop this game to Georgia, almost no chance of winning the league and making the playoff. Georgia can drop this game, win out, and still get in. Tide has there back against the wall and see this as a must win.

the correct answer is both are under pressure, but both are strong in their positions and will continue to be so.

Saban has tons of equity. He will be fine.

I don't disagree with this at all. However, this game is not a make or break for the program (or even the season), though a win would certainly propel both.

The question is specific to the HCs, stupid really.
I follow. I was thinking about the coaches as a manifestation of their respective programs, which they are.

I'm pretty sure you're not under much pressure of you're the reigning sec champ. You may be under pressure if your program has 2 sec titles in over 3 decades.
