Chicago Dawgs

Attending my uncle's funeral in Chicago this weekend. Any Georgia fans there know a good bar where I can watch the UGA/UNC game? Thanks.
I think aTm fits in the SEC fairly well: large passionate (albeit weird) fan base in a football crazed state. Mizzou not so much. They remind me of Canada: nice people, but I often forget they are up there.

UGA is just scared that Auburn/Florida would turn into a larger rivalry than the Cocktail Party.

The Cocktail Party is an unriveled event. Sorry.

Top ranked law school according to U.S. News :pimp:

You must be a sophomore...
Yes. GT is the only school that I want to see fail miserably in every aspect of college football. UF is a close second, but bowl games (outside of the playoffs) are pretty meaningless in my opinion, so why not root for the SEC. Will obviously root for Bama because of Kirby.

It is finished....

Mark Richt is head football coach at the University of Miami. It's time to focus on the Dawgs.

There's a board for this

I thought this was the appropriate board based on the number of coaching threads.

You are correct. Going from bad memory during early happy hour.
But the ultimate point remains. At some point being humane has to trump fear.

despite attacks. Meanwhile, cowardice American GOP governors shut door (completely ignoring the fact that the federal government controls immigration).

I was there for about a week for a conference. I thought it was a very nice place to visit, with friendly people. It was fascinating. I would also say this...my perception, based on my experience, is that there is a vast difference between Ghana and the French colonized countries of west Africa,

I hope several west African countries within the next year or two. A few years ago my dad's great aunt did an ancestry search with DNA and learned that we are from what is present day Guinea/Sierre Leon. I'm pretty anxious to get over there.

You really should visit Africa sometime.

I did study abroad in South Africa for a semester. That was way back in 1995 though. The world was a much different place then so I can't compare my experience in Africa to an experience in 2015. Also, my family in Baltimore runs a non-profit called Ghana Has Need, Inc. My aunts and cousins make regular trips to Ghana in connection with the organization. I have not been to Ghana yet.
You white southerners are incorrigible. You absolutely hate our Kenyan president but love the supposed views of the average Kenyan because they align with your racism.

I am a black Morehouse College and University of Georgia Law grad. I have encountered many Africans throughout the years who would laugh at OP's Kenyan friend. I understand that most southerners rarely venture away from the land of cotton and thus have a very limited world view which causes them to use the stories of friends as a proxy. I would invite any one of you to my hometown, Washington, DC, and speak with members of the very sizable African population there. You will quickly find that your friend's exoeriences are outliers.

On blacks being liberal/Democrat: My great uncle who owned a shoe repair business was, like most blacks, very active in the GOP in the 40s and 50s. Of course that changed when the country began to have a serious discussion on Voting Rights and Civil Rights. Movements championed by Democrats. I consider myself to be a liberal and vote Democrat for social reasons primarily. I am a strong supporter of LGBT and Women's rights. Those issues trump economic ones for me.
