with the dawgs being the first in what, 72 games over bama, i think ga. the blackout game, the seccg, being rated higher, being the fav, plus its the 2nd regular season game in a row at athens, richts penchant for losing and then losing again. all this adds up to loads of pressure on the dawgs to win.

Based on what?

Not sure what you define as a signature win. Did we win the SEC last year without a signature win? Including beating two teams that had 10+ wins? Does 2013's win over a 10+ win LSU team ranked #10 at game time not count?
Exactly what do you define as a "few" years? I'm guessing only the last two, because then you're disregarding the 2012 SECCG and 2012 BCSCG.

Wouldnt you say a coach that is known for losing the big games wouldnt have the pressure to win one. He is expected to lose vs the opposite with Saban
ETA, and a lot of the chastising of Richt is for not winning it all, this game would not necessarily stop that completely this year. it would hinder it, but not like it would for Saban

A win for the Dawgs vanquishes a lot of these supposed demons surrounding CMR and buries the painful '08 blackout game and '12 SECC losses.
No it does not. It especially does not absolve him of his frick up in the SEC championship game as that cost us an almost guaranteed title.

Saban is under ZERO pressure.
He has the rings and a lifetime contract. Period. Anyone saying differently has no clue what they are talking about.

A lot of pain in that post. Live in the present, brother.

Saban. Have you seen his fanbase?

Eh, the pressure Saban puts on himself is probably pretty crushing.

Honest question - when has he seemed happy publicly?

I think a second loss this early in the season puts the spotlight on Alabama's lack of a signature win in the last few years.
So, winning the SEC title wasn't a signature win? How about winning in Baton Rogue? What about beating MSU last year when they were #1?
Last few years? Damn, dude. It was just 3 years ago they won the 2nd of back-to-back national titles.
For a guy who "seems unhappy" (of course, the implication being he doesn't like Bama and wants out) he sure has done a lot to put roots in Alabama - both kids are graduates of the university who married graduates of the university, he's moved his mom to Bham, he's opened a business in Bham where his son works in a leadership role, he's got a grandchild in bham. Yeah. He seems miserable and ready to get out ASAP (after 9 years).

yep.
They're ignoring all of Alabama's flaws, and just going by their name. Georgia wins by double digits.

What type of pressure is Richt under? Guy has top ten, top five talent every year and doesn't win anything to importance, and yet everyone loves him. He probably has less pressure than any coach in the country.

Saban has won 3 of the last 6 national titles. He does not have to prove any longer he is a great coach.
If anything this increases the pressure on Saban & co.
Not to a rational thinking person. You don't think a coach who has never been able to turn the corner and play for a national title doesn't feel more pressure than a coach who has won multiple national titles? It will suck if Saban loses, but he has won on the biggest stage multiple times at Bama and if he stays a few more years will probably get another shot at it. Richt has never been able to turn the corner and while a loss to Bama doesn't end UGA's chance this year it just further cements the reputation of Richt as a coach who while very good can't turn the corner.

Pressure is all on Bama. This is a free game for UGA. Win or lose they can still make the playoff... Easy answer.
Posted on 10/2/15 at 9:22 am to JimmyMcNulty
That wasn't the question. The question is specific to the HCs, stupid really.

Tell that to their fans who remember 2008 when Bama crushed them at home or the heart break of the 2012 SEC title game. I assure you their fans and Richt want this game bad and feel tremendous pressure to somewhat vindicate those loses.
