Didn't he withdraw his name?

On a scale of 'completely dumb' to 'evil genius', where would a Hugh Freeze hire fall into place?
For an unbiased bystander like myself, it would sure make the Egg Bowl incredibly entertaining.

Veneables. Just waiting until after the Championship game to announce it.

He hasn't been mentioned much, possibly because he already makes more than $2 million a year.

Miss St bout to hate 3rd down
He had the #10 defense for Mississippi State in 2017.

They fired him for lack of locker room control and his on field. But the locker room stuff was the final straw.

FSU did it. Arkansas did it.
It wasn't the two years. It was the timing and not having a viable succession plan. That was stupid.

David Beaty is available. He would keep y'all around your baseline win totals.

He did. But I have state buddies that say its still Napier. That the " not a candidate" line was "coming from outside his posse"....

would rather have an interim coach next year than have had another year of Moorhead.
What an idiotic comment. I understand it's a puffy chest message board hero comment, but have zero clue as to what happens to recruiting, the life blood of college football, when the recruits see a SEC team unable to hire a coach and use an interim.
Old saying, Devil you know is better than the devil you don't
You knew Moorhead was a recruiting machine. You knew he was making changes.
Now you know, not really many looking to step into what the fan base created even for 4 million more than they are making.

...downvote on this one. State needs a coach quickly to save their recruiting. There are still plenty of decent options out there. It's an attractive job compared to others. However, as someone said on these boards earlier, the SEC West is ALPHA MALE territory...best beware of that fact when hiring. Drinkwitz-type characters need not apply. This is BIG BOY FOOTBALL over here, State included.

Moo State out here getting brutalized like they were Tennessee

Find a spark plug, up-and-coming assistant.
Ties to State would be good, though not compulsory.
Some of the best hires have been relative unknowns.

Hudspeth is the obvious choice for me. I think he is perfect. Most state fans seem to be cool with Grantham and I have no idea wtf they are thinking.
