I don't think anyone thinks he's special, but he also throws the ball pretty well down the field and down an acceptable job of hitting guys on quick routes.

If you can do those 2 things and not make a million idiotic decisions you can be a pretty solid college QB, especially when you are surrounded by great players.

Gotcha. Mac doesn’t have to be Tua level for y’all to go 12-0 or 11-1 if Metchie pans out. Especially with Harris returning

Hard to made a prediction based on what the completion will look like. If their schedule is anything like this past year, He would be able to pad his stats against some marginal Ds, but who know

You know what our schedule is

Well if Mac Jones gets injured it will probably effect his overall numbers because, you know, he won't be playing in the games...........

So your eye didn’t see under throws. I guess Gary Danielson has old eyes also.

This is weak, you know you weren’t talking about Mac.

He's clearly a drop off from Tua. I'd compare him to Trask or somebody like Brandon Allen when he was at Arkansas.....but with more players around him, obviously.

I think he's better than JPW or McElroy were, but probably not quite as polished as AJ was.

I think that we can win with him if our defense is good. I don't think we can win with him or anybody else if they aren't substantially better than last year.

It'll be Jones. Here's gone after next season so they aren't risking Young transferring with a redshirt.

I was definitely talking about Mac - the whole point of the exercise was to predict a season worth of stats and record, assuming Mac played all 12 games.

WHOA! How many years have you used the injury bug to excuse Gus' mediocrity and middling W-L record over the past 7 season's?

Injuries are not a typical Bama fan excuse and you damn well know it.

I can't remember a season in the last decade where Bama had the amount of injuries they sustained in '19, many of which occurred before the season even started. But they somehow found a way to not dip down to a 10 win season even with the unfortunate injuries they sustained.

I'll go

Record : 11-1

QB Stats
205/315 (65%)
3,000 yards
29 TD / 7 INT

That would come out to a QB Rating of 171.0. Between AJ in 2012 (175.3) and McElory in 2010 (169.0)

Last year our yardage was 67/33 pass/run, this year I'm guessing it is more like 62/38 pass/run

Young is going to get tons of PT this season, he's too good to keep off the field and Sark/Saban know it.

Never from me. Only one game where you could attempt to use an injury as an excuse for a loss and that was the 2017 SECCG. Injuries are part of the game, but don’t tell Bama fans.

Bama fans use injuries for every loss, look at the AU games in 17 and 19.

I like Mac but this opinion may not popular among some fans. You are correct, he doesn't have great velocity on the long ball. During the Citrus Bowl broadcast Greg McElroy pointed this out a few times on the deep throws. The passes were thrown a bit inside which gives the DB a better chance to defend or even intercept it. To me, it looks like he just doesn't have the arm to hit those throws on the outside down the field more than about 40 yards are so.
