FYI, one of your 2021/2022 transfer pitchers, Logan Henderson at McClennan CCC, threw a perfect game today. 21 up 21 down. His mom is a good friend.

Doesn't bother me; but like I said above, many students/Former Students are proponents of harkening back to the days of the original Reveille (a mutt).
In all fairness, I can't think of a collegiate sports team with a dog mascot that isn't a purebred of some variety. I could certainly be wrong.

And the answer is...marketing. Yes, you heard right, it comes down to money. They market Rev dolls and such, and using the collie breed makes that consistent. If we had a mutt, it would change in appearance from one to the next, or we'd have to go looking for a very specific type in order to please the marketing people. Totally lame reason, but that's why.
