And? Are you comparing Sumlin to Miles now, because he loses that one too.

Both went 11-2 their first season.

Neither had Les Miles before going to LSU. In fact, his four-year record at Oklahoma State was 28-21.

So Sumlin too can win a championship, just needs to follow Saban at Bama?

Miles was 2-2 against aggy there, 5-2 all time.

This arguement is so terrible. Trying to talk down a coach because he lost BCS games is laughable. Most of the coaches in college football would kill to have coached in 3 BCS bowl games but unfortunately for them the vast majority never will.

So let's pretend like that one didn't even happen. He still has 200% more conference titles than Sumlin.

Because 0-2 is SO much better.

So you're trying to tell me that R.C. Slocum is a better coach than Jackie Sherrill because he went to a BCS Bowl?

Jackie Sherril went to two "BCS Bowls" so your comparison is invalid.

LOL, no. Sumlin has never even won a conference championship in his entire career.

Arrghh!

His entire six year career!

Took Saban like 9 years before he won one. Guess Bert's better than him, too.

I agree.

What makes Bert a sucky coach isn't his impressive collection of bowl losses, but rather his sub .500 record against Big Ten teams not named Minnesota, Purdue, Illinois, and Northwestern.

I am gonna go with "end of time" occurs before either.

So your saying he doesn't lose games that he shouldn't and goes .470 against the top teams with lesser talent. And that combination of things allowed him to win conference championships?

Sounds absolutely terrible.

Well Arkansas has already won three so time must have ended in 1995.

I'm saying he loses to good teams more often than not, something only further substantiated by his Rose Bowl losses and winless record in the SEC.

Losses just enough to still win conference championships and play in Rose Bowls. Gotcha.

Doesn't that mean that the top teams were only .530 against CBB. Hmmmmm, interesting.

Hence why citing either is intellectually dishonest at best and a blatant mischaracterization at worst.

Arkansas has already won the West three times.

I don't think either will be able to win the division with Les and Nick in the mix, who I think will be around longer than Sumlin or Bert.

In the grand scheme I'd call it a toss up.
