The four East teams should be ranked 2-5, because to win the SEC Championship, you have to win your division first.

South Carolina, Missouri, Kentucky and even Vanderbilt have a better chance of having a team slip up and win the East than MSU, Arkansas, and Ole Miss have of winning the West.

A&M is a sleeping giant, and is obviously the best chance of breaking into the Big 6. But one of the East teams could have a good day. The West teams have to have a great season.

The best team after Alabama there was an 8-5 Florida, so no, South Carolina was NOT "pretty good" that year.

And they beat that UF team badly.

Also, that Bama team they beat by double digits was the most talented team Saban has ever produced anywhere.

And, they took the undefeated national champion with the best player in SEC history down to the wire on the road at maybe the toughest venue to play in the SEC.

So, yeah, they were "pretty good" and you are "pretty dumb".

How many head coaches were fired midseason in the east that year?

There's NO chance that we make it there any time soon. You will see our program completely tank under Luke. Remember the joke that Ole Miss was at the end of the Hootie era? We weren't even predicted to win an SEC game in the next 10 years. I believe that is where we are headed.

Unless you have an SRS of 15+, you're a mediocre team for me.

You're just overrating them since you won the SEC to me.

This actually gives me an idea for a thread. Yes, the 2010 SEC East was worse than 2018, and SRS proves it. Not silly "coach moves".

Except for UGA, I'll agree. But to say UGA wasn't legit is like saying the whole conference wasn't legit. Which would in turn say College football as a whole wasn't legit given the way things played out in January.

You don't think he did a pretty good job given his situation last year?

Nobody said UGA wasn't legit. But at least be honest about the East not being up to par. Two of of the best 3 teams in the East had to fire their coach midseason they were such a train wreck. Win or lose those games, UT or UF could've at least beaten you up some had they been worth a damn.

I just said, except for UGA it was true. But UGA would've won it even if it was good. The same can't be said for SC in 2010. Their win that year was directly related to how bad the conference was. 9-5 is as bad an East champ as we've ever had.

What situation?

Giving up a big lead against Arkansas and losing?

Coming in second to last in the SEC West?

Not scoring in the entire 2nd half against Cal or A&M?

Losing 66-3 to Alabama?

Finally putting together offensive drives against LSU with Taamu and then putting back in Patterson to lose the game?

Scratching out a last second win against KENTUCKY?

Making some really bone headed calls like the one that almost lost the game to MSU?

We were almost dead last in the nation in defense too.

I really don't know what you are talking about.

4.Ole Miss: Have proven they can recruit. Came within a gnat's behind twice of beating out LSU in 2003 for a spot in Atlanta. They only lost to the Tigers by three. And had UGA beaten LSU earlier in the year in what was a very close game, Ole Miss could've absorbed the LSU loss and still made it. The state isn't exactly loaded with talent, but tends to produce more of the top end type talent (5 star and high 4 star recruits) some years than their state population would suggest. Why they won't: They can recruit, just can't do it without making it obvious that they are cheating. Laremy Tunsil was a silent to UGA. Didn't have Ole Miss in his top three. Supposedly goes for a visit because a family member goes there. Commits on the visit a few weeks before NSD. Ya gotta tell that kid to say "Ole Miss really gave me something to think about." Take it to NSD. Pick the Ole Miss hat over the UGA hat and just tell them it was the hardest decision of your life. We all know what happened in the end. If Ole Miss ever has the team to do it, they probably won't be eligible.
being from Mississippi i will say if Ole Miss could keep our players in state they would be better

Their 2011 team blew it at home against 7-5 Auburn. Their 2012 team lost 44-11 to UF (supposedly, half the team had Ebola or something according to certain USC posters ). 2013 lost to Butch Jones.

A&M has the best chance by far . The teams in the east had their best chance recently but now it looks like that door basically closed. UF and UGA have better head coaches then the little 6 in the east now. I think there was a time when USCe had the best coach in the east and they couldn’t win it then . The west is stacked at the top so it will be tough for anyone but A&M to win the division.
