If you follow college football there are not a lot of questions for ALABAMA to answer as far as talent is concerned

The burden this season is on the team and not just a few soldiers. That is a lot of 4 and 5 stars back in charge.

Easy big guy, I’m not saying Bama is going to suck or anything. Just that the two new coordinators who may or may not have been top choices plus the new QB just leave me feeling a bit less sure going into the season. And yes, every team breaking in a new qb will have questions, y’all have had a pretty long run of supreme talent there and built the offense around those guys. So the lack of clear superstar talent is surprising, that’s all. If y’all are going back to smash mouth football that doesn’t depend on a few superstars and relies on a stifling defense then no one will be happier than me, that’s the type of game I love.

I think Bama will win it this year but will have a tough time getting there.

LSU won't be in contention

Figs also won't be in contention

Congratulations on your 1998 SEC West championship. It was truly a season for the ages.

If I was in control of the AD the very first thing I'd do is rip down that banner.

It's too late for that. Bama, Saban, and the game have changed.

Baloney. If you think that describes BAMA football in 2011 you are sadly mistaken. BAMA was playing physical football in 2020.

I never said y'all weren't physical. I just said Saban, Bama, and the game have changed to where joyless murderball doesn't work anymore.

That's why it will work. Teams have gotten away from physical football.

Not saying it does. But there are a lot of question marks for Bama right now, so I am having trouble just defaulting them in.

Its no doubt that bama has talent stockpiled, but they have way more questions that haven't been answered than LSU does.

Id put it like this:

1a.LSU
1b.Bama
3.aggie
4.Rkansas
5.Ole Miss
6.Miss State
7.Auburn

So you're saying that the team that wins the West every year doesn't benefit from other teams having down years??
Not always...

LSU 2011.
Would you say Alabama and Arkansas had down years? Good argument that those 3 were the top 3 in all of CFB that year.

Alabama, "the decline" version of bama was still the best team in the west. Banking on a west team to lose all the right games and catch breaks isn't going to keep bama out the sec championship most years

Georgia seemed to be fairly effective at it in the SECCG. It's a hat on a hat.

Georgia also averaged 40+ points and 500+ yards per game and Bennett threw for 4127 yards.

You have to put LSU in the drivers seat with the proven QB in my opinion.

Bama certainly has the roster to do it if their QB situation turns out well.

A&M kind of a Dark horse with Petrino calling plays.

And they stayed balanced. Look at BAMA's stats in 2020. They ran the hell out of the ball and DeVonta Smith still won the Heisman. The up grade is Steele and our defense. Pete Golding had the defense a step behind too many times.

No one is talking about 2 new coordinators and 0 experience QB starting likely, mixed with they lost their leader in Young and Anderson

Talent alone makes them the front runner, however, LSU might be equal at this point. The game in Tuscaloosa will decide the West no doubt

But it is a trend. On average, Brian Kelly loses 4 games a year.

Brian Kelly was around 55-8 his last 5 years at Notre Dame. That's 1 to 2 losses a season. I don't like people that make up false stats because it's in line with their emotion.

So you are ok with picking a timeline to fit your narrative though...
