I would not be unhappy with that scenario. Disappointed some, yes. But to go from 6 loss seasons to averaging 12 wins a year? I'd take that in a heartbeat.

We're on probation now, dumbass. And no, Arkansas will not be Alabama's competition next year or ever. LSU will. Arkansas cannot recruit well enough to win the west on any type of consistent basis.

LSU consistently recruits better than just about anyone.

Coaching matters.

A psychologist friend of mine just sent me a link to this thread with the following comment:

"The psychology at work in this thread dictates that all of the posters with the script "A," next to their names will say Arky, when everybody who has been paying attention knows that it will be Auburn, LSU, and Alabama fighting it out like always."

Who is going to step up and be Bama's competition for SEC west? Auburn? Arkansas? Ole Miss? LSU?

Of those teams all but LSU are improved but for 2010 I would still have to give the nod to LSU just based on the level of talent they have alone.

I like Miles but yesterday has changed my mind a little bit with respect to his coaching. I think a real good coach could come in after this season and compete for the west next year and possibly win it with the talent on LSU's team.

Just my opinion.

Like I said, I like coach Miles but this team just doesn't seem to have the fire they once had.

Les has either 2 or 15 games left to coach at LSU. LSU will go spend 4 million per year to get someone who HAS THE WANT to coach this Louisiana talent up.

ETA Soooooooo.......LSU will be your competition

I guess reading comprehension isn't necessary in that field, since I didn't say that.

You forgot about the 18.75 million dollar buyout his contract has. Miles will be back another year and run LSU into the ground even more, LSU will hand pick his assistants next year to try to slow the decent.

Auburn and Ark are looking like the two teams on the rise in the West, MSU is also but has a lot of work ahead of them. OM will be strong next year but Nutt is at the helm so that rules them out.

Ole Miss is going to head back down to their rightful place.

Arkansas will always win one or two they shouldn't, but Petrino is locked into being a consistent 7 or 8 win coach in this league. He just won't be able to recruit the talent to get better than that.

LSU is being driven into the ground by an idiot savant, who is more idiot than savant, as it turns out.

Miss State will get better and have a real chance to return to their late 90's competitiveness. It's hard to figure out why they are usually scarier than Ole Miss, but they are for some reason.

Auburn is most likely to get the talent and have the coaching to be a consistent threat to make it to Atlanta.

I think what we'll see in the coming years is the Iron Bowl being the battle for the West......By the close of 2012, the Iron Bowl will be recognized as the most important rivalry in the nation.

By 2015 we will take over the world in athletic importance.

I think I might just trust the best offensive mind in the SEC to make sure Mallett doesn't regress.

If Les is at LSU more than fifteen more games, LSU will lose a hell of a lot more (by way of donations) than that buyout.

ETA I am personally done giving money to any athletic endeavor until they get rid of that clown.

Auburn replacing a lot of key experience at QB and RB but a lot of seniors next year particularly on the offensive line, the defense will have talented depth and mostly juniors and seniors in starting positions.

The defense will have talented depth? Really?

As my response already proves, if your "psychologist friend" is dumb enough to group all Alabama fans together, then he's no psychologist at all.

It will continue to be LSU. Seriously Bama fans, you beat us in OT in 2008 and it was a close game in 2009. Don't act like you have run off and hidden from us. LSU will continue to bring in top 5 recruiting classes and will be in the thick of things year in and year out.

Not so fast about recruiting. If your son was a good athlete, would you feel good about sending to LSU to let an idiot coach him with the likelyhood that he would spend a lot of time on the bench so that a less talented senior could play rather than your son?

Nutt has forced more QBs to regress than any other coach in the SEC.

I'm still trying to figure out how a QB missing 5-6 wide open throws a game is a failure by the head coach.
