That dude was in our backfield all day. Think he had 5 sacks.
A&M actually had a top 25 defense that season.

Recently it would be Cam and Tebow. Cam has the best single year and Tebow has the better career. If Newton didn’t get kicked off the Gator team then he may have played more years and had the better career.Johnny is overrated. He had the talent around him and still never won anything.

Tim Tebow generated more offense and more TDs than Newton in their respective Heisman years.

False, McCaleb, Adams, Reed, Ziemba, and Mosley all played in the league.

2007 lost 10 of 11 starters off defense, plus a couple key backups. Top WR and TE both left. True freshman starting on the OL and at CB. DT depth was so bad Mike Pouncey was getting rotated in by the end of the year.
That year was a total rebuild and Mullen was still training OTJ. Took until the Cocktail Party in 05 to adapt the offense to Leak, took until Arkansas in 08 to maximize the backfield with Tebow.
2007 Florida was explosive but incredibly young. Still can't believe they hung with LSU that year in what was, for my money, the best conference game I've ever seen played.

Percy Hardin
Andre Caldwell
Cornelius Ingram
Carlos Dunlap
Tim Tebow
Chris Rainey
Louis Murphy
Joe Haden
Cam Newton
Major Wright
Brandon James
Ahmad Black
Ryan Stamper
Jermaine Cunningham
Brandon Spikes
Maurkice Pouncy
Mike Pouncy
Marcus Gilbert
Aaron Hernandez
Riley Cooper
Derrick Harvey
Young or not, Auburn’s overall 2010 roster can’t hold a candle to 2007 Florida.

Half those players you listed were true freshmen or true sophomores with very little game experience. Joe Haden hadn't played CB since Pop Warner and was a Day 1 starter
It's no secret the 06 and 07 recruiting classes made the 08 and 09 Gators some of the most talented teams in modern history, but you can't seriously say with a straight face that if you swap Tebow for Newton they'd win a title.

Cam newton. He took a 7 win team to a national title. That's the best dam college football player I ever saw. Ever.

Wade Christopher would destroy all of these players

Without Mark Ingram, Alabama’s 2009 squad is a 7 win team.
Cupboard was super bare that year.

Tebow over Cam and Manziel, for the time factor and the title factor. He dominated longer than Cam, and won a national title, which Manziel didn't manage.

I'd go with Walker. defenses knew he was getting it and he'd still somehow get through holes. once he turned the corner, it was game over

You can say the same thing about Cam. In short yardage situations everyone knew Cam was going to keep the ball and go right off center and no one could stop him.
1a. Cam
1b. Herschel
2. Tebow
3. Bo
4. Manziel

For those old enough to have seen Herschel and Bo...it would be between them.

Most people here are not old enough to remember H. Walker play. He was the best I’ve ever seen. He had no help either - it was all him.
Cam was great but he had some really good players around him.
Kinda hard to bring up different eras with this crowd. Too many people never saw others play.

Easy call. Cam. Most dominant player maybe ever in college football for a single season.
Dude was unstoppable and carried an AU team that was probably in the bottom half of its own division without him (LSU, Bama, Arky were all better and AU would have been #4) to an undefeated national championship season. Not many SEC national championship teams go undefeated. Not only did AU go undefeated, they did it against the best SEC west in the history of the SEC, ending the season on the road against a fired up bama team that is one of the most talented bama has ever had. Oh yeah, they set an SECCG record for the biggest blowout, then went out West to play undefeated #1 Oregon who blew out everyone all season. And they even beat a very good Clemson as an out of conference opponent.
That AU team loses 4 games without Cam.
