I need some substance behind this....

Mullens was his OC all the time except when Mullen went to State. Then Fla and Urban went down when they lost Mullen......watch out for State......

The answer to the OP's original question:

Houston Dale Nutt

Had some good years at Arky, but in all seriousness....

In what, 14 years as a HC in the SEC?

How many trips to ATL has he made?

How many times has he won 9 games or more?

I know this is beyond Germans, but what is up with Bama fans claiming all of these years as "championships?"

1925, 1926, 1930, 1934, 1936, 1937, 1941, 1945, 1950, 1961, 1962, 1963, 1964, 1965, 1966, 1973, 1974, 1975, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980, 1991, 1992, 1994, 2009, 2011

Alabama did not, in any universe or known dimension of existence, win the 1994 national championship. Are you people counting individual AP votes as "titles?" What am I missing?

Alabama does not claim NC's for '36, '37, '45, '50, '62, '63, '66, '74, '75, '77, '80, '91, or '94.

Perhaps I am misunderstanding this, but multiple Bama posters on TD- TreyAnastasio, for example, have this as their sig:

National Champs: 1925, 1926, 1930, 1934, 1936, 1937, 1941, 1945, 1950, 1961, 1962, 1963, 1964, 1965, 1966, 1973, 1974, 1975, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980, 1991, 1992, 1994, 2009, 2011

Who else are they referring to?

It's amazing how many educated adults don't know the definition of the word overrated.

Everyone talks about Meyer's offense, however the biggest change he made to how UF played was special teams.

Its because a lot of people(most actually) love to accuse Alabama of claiming a title every year some poll named them National Champions. When in reality, if we actually did that, we would be claiming up to 27 National Championships.

Take it with a grain of salt. There's so much bitchin and moaning on this site about how Bama claims too many championships, so some Bama fans have taken it upon themselves to just claim more. At least, that's my theory.

Bo from UM.

I'm an idiot and don't read well. But, he is a good example nationwide...I guess Petrino for SEC.

Phillip Fulmer (I still think he was a good coach though).

Only one person on here picked the one I would have picked. Ralph "Shug" Jordan. Has a stadium named after him after only 1 SEC title in 25 years of coaching.

Chizik. I know he won a championship, but lI think he is a shite coach who had one unbelievable player. I don't think he can win another, and i don't think he can win 10 games consistently.

When Petrino wins something then talk about him being underrated. At least Nutt had a SEC West title.

No division title and no BCS game victory.

See aforementioned edit to clarify whether or not you're a jackass.

Seriously, though. No division title, in a division that includes the 2 most powerful programs in college football right now? That's how you measure success? I guess there's about 120 overrated coaches out there, huh?

Give Petrino 10 years and he'll get his SEC West title. Fortunately, in the years he DOESN'T win the title, he's at least getting arkansas 9'ish wins or more. Nutt consistently shite the bed every year or 2. There was never any sustained success at all. Finishing the year top 15, 2 years in a row? Nutt never even finished top 15 ONCE while at Arkansas. Nutt also got to benefit from the Shula years and Dinardo fallout.

Bear Bryant at least managed to get a Heisman winner when he was in the SWC. He drastically declined when he left Aggieland.
