For Tennessee could it be Allen Jones. My brother used to date his daughter and they are loaded and isn't the aquatic center at ut name after him?

IMO, we have some of the best boosters, as far as the amount of money, as anyone in the country.

Dude, the article was in 2006 written by an ESPN columnist.

You read a four year old article and deemed it to be an accurate depiction of Auburn's state of affairs today?

I read the damn article on ESPN's website myself.

You read the article as a result of tuna's thread.

Well considering you've already stated in this thread that you didn't know who Bobby Lowder was two weeks ago, I'd say it's not much. But relax, you're not alone.

How did he make his money, is it solely off of his dad's name? Haslam gets his from Pilot.

Nothing to do with his daddy as far as I know. He owned one of the dogtracks in alabama for a long time (greentrack I think?) and now he is the President of Bryant Bank. Not really sure what he did before the dogtrack though.

I'd say I know quite a bit more at this point in time. Thanks.

One more thing to add, coaches didnt get paid as much as they do now back when Coach Bryant was coaching so I dont think he amassed any kind of fortune doing it.

This is correct. The Walton's don't really donate to the athletic program. They have donated like 350 million to the Walton College of Business, which helps the athletic program in a roundabout kind of way, but they aren't really into athletic donations.
