He's decent, but a top 15 pick? Come on now.
hince the fact I said he has all the talent to succeed, didn't say he would be drafted this year in the top 15, he has the potential to be the next year or year after. When given the ball in his career, he has made plays...plain and simple, are you butthurt from the 2 or 3 he made vs your team this past year?
And obviously I do not think A true freshman is among the best in the SEC at this moment, but we could start throwing Landry in the talk this time next year

Talent wise, Randle is as good a WR as Bowe was for LSU and I truly believe that. Difference is in the QB throwing them the ball.

But I do agree that Alshon is the absolute number one WR if not player in the SEC

Never thought the day would come when Stephen Garcia would get the credit for making Alshon the premier receiver in the SEC.

I was comparing Randle to Dwayne Bowe and the quarterbacks not Alshon. FWIW I think Alshon is better than Bowe or Randle.

Randle is definitely a high end NFL prospect. He won't put up great numbers at LSU unless a QB steps up though.
As for the Arky receivers, they are all quality guys that rely on each other as a unit to keep the D from double teaming anyone. However, they do not have the pure physical talent and game changing ability that Jeffery possesses. Arky is loaded with 2nd-4th round type guys who are great for a college passing attack as a collective group.

I knew that. That's why I only quoted part of your original post. It was just too good to resist -- and made for an interesting thought since no one feels they can judge LSU's receiving talent because of the QB issues. And because you wonder if the Flagship's receivers are as talented as they seem to be, or if Mallett/Petrino just made them look that good.

I see what you're saying
I would love to see what Alshon would do in Arky's system

Maybe by sheer volume of passes thrown his way... He's nothing special...
You're showing either your ignorance or biases. You don't think Childs is "that" good go back and look at film. A certain D-back for LSU lined up and played Julio Jones in straight up man press coverage without help. When he had Childs in man he gave him a cushion and would not get up to press him. And most of the time he had a safety over the top.
Now smart guy tell me which is the better WR!

Jeffrey.
At the risk of hurting some feelings (
), I don't think the any of the Arky receivers are better than Marquis Maze. They're all pretty good, but over-hyped due to the system.

Meh -- it's really Spurrier's system anyway. If we can just get Spurrier to call the plays again, our offense will take off. And get Garcia to consistently go through his reads instead of forcing the ball to Alshon.

Might wanna see if Garcia will even be playing first

Alshon Jeffrey hands down.

Alshon Jeffrey.
However, I think a few of these guys have a shot to be mentioned at years end...
Greg Childs
Justin Hunter
Reuben Randle
Trevon Reed

PP7 played Julio in press man coverage because that is the best way to defend Julio against Bama's style of passing attack. Arky throws the deep ball a lot more so you adjust the coverage. You really going to compare Julio to Childs based on how one corner was told to cover them???? Damn......
