Anyone who wants to collect a multimillion dollar buyout in 4-5 years would jump at the opportunity to coach at Auburn.

Their potential is 8-5. They've finished bett3r then 8-5 four times in the last 18 seasons.

Outside of the buyout in two years jokes, it's a tough place to coach.

1. You're guaranteed Alabama and UGA every year.

2. Throw in the rest of the SEC, the toughest conference top to bottom.

3. NIL and the portal have evened the playing field a bit, which sounds like a positive, but you're now competing with schools you thought you had a leg up on, and that's not even counting the top teams/bluebloods you're recruiting against as well.

4. Disorganization between the athletic department and boosters, we've seen it get messy in the past couple of coaching searches.

5. A problem for basically every school, unrealistic expectations. It's tougher to be dominant at the top, and the middle/lower tier power conference teams look at Indiana and Vandy and now expect those immediate results.

Yeah good luck.

Only 2 options:

- A coach from a lower level

- A coach that has been fired from a higher rated team needing to try again.

And the new coach will only get 1 year before the fan base is crying wanting him gone.

Their roster is about to be shattered.

You don’t think Harsin deserved it? The stupid Sumbitch didn’t even know where Atlanta was or that it was in a different time zone.

The blame is to be placed on the dickheads who hire a guy that isn’t a cultural fit. WTF

I’m down. Just keep your head down and don’t get involved in any scandals, and you can retire a wealthy man in 18 months.

Man.. come on. All Harsin new was how to build a winning program.

Harsin's tenure as offensive coordinator, Boise State posted a 61–5 (.924) record.

As HC of Boise, he went 69-19 winning the conference 5 out of 7 years. Those other 2... 2nd!

You should have given him the time to retool for his offense.

Year 1.. He lost to PSU by a TD. He beat LSU at LSU. He beat #17 and #10. Took #3 Bama to 4 OTs.

With a bad Roster for his system.

I agree Harsin could have been a good coach there, but it was made clear by the idiots down there that he wasn’t wanted there. So that is an admission they shouldn’t have hired the guy

Are there any quality, exceptionally motivated high school coaches out there? They might be willing to take a chance at Auburn.

I think they can still find someone decent, but the dude has got to be fired up to be competitive against UGA and Bama in the recruiting war.

That goes back to the fan base being allowed to dictate to the admin.

Is it the fanbase or is it the collective down there? A group of wealthy boosters doesn’t necessarily mean the whole fanbase.
