This game is going to be built up just like the UGA game last year and Alabama is going to come in there and beat the absolute brakes off of the Vols. We've seen it too many times. I hate Alabama just like everyone else but I mean, there's no sense in getting your hopes up. Just write an L down and move on.

Bama should win...they are the more talented team. However...the talent differential is the closest it has been since 2006 or 2007. UT should be able to be competitive...

Maybe when it comes to starters and a few key positions but when it comes to overall depth we're not in the same league. We have some depth now and it's good depth but we're not close to having 5*s in the three deep across every position.

The one thing that helps UT with regard to talent...Alabama has consistently brought in more talent than UT, but they have also lost a lot of talent early.

UGA runs a pro-style offense that the Bama defense is built to stop. Their strengths on offense fell right to Bama's strengths on defense. And UGA's defense last year couldn't stop Bama's offense.

We run an offense that Bama tends to struggle a bit more with and did a far better job than UGA with containing their offense. Both our defense and our offense will be better this year and we gave Bama one of their toughest games last season and we did it in Tuscaloosa. This season we'll play in Knoxville.

There's no reason to think this game will be anything other than a good ol fashioned war. It will be a surprise if either team manages to trample the other.

UT plays Bama at the back end of:
Florida
@UGA
@Tamu
Bama

That's a very difficult 4 game stretch. UT may win them all. If they do, I'll be very impressed and they'll be on their way to East championship and a spot in SECCG playing for spot in CFB Playoffs.

That said, I don't think it sets up well for them to beat Bama.

It's really not that complicated. Alabama has more talent than any team in the country, but once again a big question mark at the most important position. If you can play Bama before the quarterback has matured (assuming he does), then you have a good shot. This is the number one reason for Ole Miss' recent success against Bama. They have a good team with experience in the right places and they play us early. (Chad Kelly was supposed to be the exception, but the fricker played us like he was a 5th year senior)

It's definitely a tough stretch and I still think Bama will come into town favored. I just don't think it will be a slaughter like one of the other posters suggested. I think it will be a very good and well fought game and I don't expect either team will really run away with it.

Despite the fact that the series is one of long streaks, the games themselves are rarely slaughters.

Don't bet against them. Experienced quarterback that is above average. They have a fricking truck at RB, Barnett may be the best pass rush guy around and for once they can sub in other blue chip guys and not have much of a drop off. Last but not least they are motivated and driven to win.
Don't get me wrong, Bama is easily more talented than are, nobody will recruit as good as coach Saban.

They will be top 5 team when we meet, if not higher.

I hate em but they will out talent everyone except for Georgia and Bama.

It's the perfect stom with their schedule and they are more than talented enough to beat bam. Heck, I'm sure that making the playoff his v their goal. Lots of vol fans are gonna frick with guys when they win 11 games.

Bama has much more talent overall but our starters are pretty even, the game should be a close, hard fought battle up in Knoxville.
