We barely lost in week 1. Texas got dog walked halfway through the season.

That's fair enough, but Vanderbilt is your best win.

Vanderbilt is your best win.

Vanderbilt.

is your best win.

Best.

Your best win.

Vanderbilt.

Well, we all can’t play in the SEC East the past decade.

In their defense, the AP voters only had Vandy 3 points behind Missouri.

“Lost”

Got destroyed

Got boat raced

At home

Even after getting 3 turn overs

Lots of ways to state it other than just “lost”

You know you’ve lost the plot when you start talking “quality losses”.

Right now Texas’ best win is a 3 point victory over #25 Vanderbilt.

That’s all you got.

Hypothetically, if Alabama beats LSU, Oklahoma beats Missouri and A&M beats South Carolina..

Who is A&M's best win?

Unranked LSU?
Unranked Missouri?
Unranked South Carolina?
Unranked Bowling Green?
Unranked Arkansas?
Unranked Florida?
Unranked Mississippi State?
Unranked McNeese?

It's entirely possible that neither Texas or A&M will have a ranked win when 11/30 comes around.

It's also possible that Vanderbilt beats Auburn and SC the next two weeks and re-enters the Top 25.

I think they made both of our schedules relatively easy so they could hype up that rivalry rematch.

Texas has the easiest schedule. They didn’t even have an sec road game until their 8th game of the season and it was Vanderbilt. The only other road games they have are at Arky and Aggy to close out the season.

They got their hardest opponent at home.

They play Florida at home, Aggy played at the swamp.

They played MS State at home, Aggy played in Starkville and those damn constant cow bells always get annoying

They play Kentucky at home, Aggy plays SC in Columbia at night.

Playing at home is always easier than an away game. ESP in SEC games.

Somebody tried to schedule Texas a very favorable schedule. They just didn’t count on
Vandy coming to life this season. Because I have friends who were Sankey’s neighbors when he lived in Texas while working for the Southland conference, I know that he is a Longhorn fan boy. So, my opinion, is that he ordered a favorable schedule be made for Texas so they could come in and have instant success and make a big splash. Makes him
Look like a genius for bringing them on
board….even though none of us other schools are making a dime from the addition of Texas and Ou. All we’ve gotten are scheduling headaches and losing opportunity to play longtime opponents each year. At least with Missouri and Aggy we all got paid a lot of money when they were brought on. There was a speaking engagement where someone asked Sankey about the weakness of Texas’s schedule and he replied they were trying to ease them into the sec. I wish someone would have asked him why he didn’t apply those same methods with OU’s schedule.

That’s a lot of ifs.

A&M is in the drivers seat of the SEC. We control our own destiny. Win out and SOS doesn’t matter.

It’s not my team’s job to make sure other teams win their games. My team’s job is to prepare and win the game they’re playing that week.

ETA: A&M is 2-1 against Top 10 opponents this season, barely losing to ND.

ESPN has A&M SOS 24 and Texas SOS 44

Both are over-ranked. A&M should be around 50 and Texas around 80

Not really. There were only 2 If's..

Alabama vs LSU
Oklahoma vs Missouri

The A&M game doesn't really matter. If they lose that game, it's a different discussion.

The same is true for Georgia, Texas and Tennessee. IMO, the goal is to make the playoffs, not the SEC CG, and all would be in the playoffs at 11-1.

I'm not sure what happens with 10-2 teams right now..

Texas is undefeated with A&M's schedule.

A&M would have 2 losses with ours.

That’s fine, but you’ve only put this in context of SEC teams.

Texas fans have been propping up a Michigan win all season. Michigan has 3 losses and still has to play #1 Oregon, #4 Ohio State, and #13 Indiana.

I have no doubts y'all will keep polishing that turd, but the reality is Michigan could end the season with 6 losses.

Oregon probably goes to the B10CG undefeated.

Winner of Penn St and OSU this weekend will probably play Oregon in the conference championship.

All this against the backdrop that CFP rankings haven’t even been released yet. Assuming they continue to win I expect A&M’s poll position to be better than where they are in AP and Coaches.

This has us at #6: LINK
