Chalked up another who isn't smart enough or can't refute my argument.

A lot of downvotes, not one intelligent argument disproving my part.

your point?

that how good a team is now and what their trajectory is has more importance than membership in the Big 6?

to be clear THIS POINT???

MS State looks pretty good right now, but I don;t think you are in any danger of winning the SEC anytime soon, not this year anyway

LSU has a real shot to get back to the Championship

we'll see about Tennessee

State has been better lately yes. But you need to win something to join big six.

It's great that you have been a perennial to 25 team but you ain't won a championship. Admins need to anchor this crybaby thread

BTW, I don't like hating on State

I don't like your championship chances because there are too many teams ahead of you, but I wouldn't mind seeing you get one (against Tennessee or Florida anyway...)

I hope y'all do well, would love to see you guys win the west

77, Cats went 10-1 (only 11 games back then) and their only loss was to Baylor (not SEC) @ Baylor early in the season. Probably their best year since Bryant but were ineligible. They beat Mississippi State that year by I think a TD or two so State later being ruled ineligible would not have mattered.

76, Cats went 7-4 and finished 8-4 after beating UNCheats in the Peach. Funny as non conference the Cats played Kansas (lost), West Virginia (won), and North Carolina (won) so 3 games in a single football cycle with schools known for basketball. UGA went 5-1, and Cats went 4-2 in conference play but their loss to State was later vacated so they would only have 1 SEC loss. As far as schedule went they played 7 ranked team that season.

(A) @ #13 Kansas - lost
(H) vs #20 Penn State - won
(H) vs #16 LSU - won
(H) vs #10 Georgia - lost
(A) @ #5 Maryland - lost
(H) vs #15 Florida - won
(N) vs #19 UNC - won

Other than KY's shared title in the 70's the SEC title has been all Big 6 since integration. That's not an anomaly that's a long-term trend. Players and coaches come and go but the Big 6 abides.

New Big 6?

Next team to win a title. Even a league title will do, imo

The position is wide open for taking, but somebody's gotta step up and take it

So is it just the next 6 teams to win the SECCG? That's the "new Big 6"?

In that case, any SEC team can be the new big 6. They just won't be "The Big 6".

Easy.

You got to have been in the SEC for at least 15 years to be considered a member. Those 2 SEC East Championship won by Mizzou will be all but forgotten by 2027

2 SEC East Championship

A division title won't elevate a program to Big 6, imo. Its' going to take a league title. Mizzou is a good example of why I feel this way

I propose the next team to hang a legit banner knocks out the weakest of the Big 6

Now that's a great point

Big 6 are programs that have the infrastructure in place to compete for titles, and have the history to prove it. Their brands are bigger, stadiums are larger, recruiting grounds more fertile than the rest of the SEC. They are the only 6 teams that have won any SEC or National title in nearly 50 years.

It doesn't change, and if it does it will be a very long process. A&M kind of throws a wrench in it due to having the infrastructure in place, however they need to back it up with accomplishments first. Then we can discuss a Big 7. (Or them replacing Tennessee)

They gotta stop living off potential and actually do something. Florida had potential for decades but didn't do shite until the 90s

Why do you think we spent $75 mil on a coach?

There is no big 6 anymore

9 out of 14 SEC teams have won an SEC championship. Outside of the Big 6, the last school to win it was Kentucky in 1976. Ole Miss won it in 1963 and Miss St in 1941.

So yeah, there is a Big 6.

Win an outright SEC title since integration and not have a losing record in SEC play.
