Alabama
Georgia
Texas A&M

The committee will do everything they can to keep a fourth SEC team out. The whole playoff was designed to include the other conferences and end SEC dominance. It has worked.

Finish with 2 losses and it will happen. The biggest test going forward is Vandy, I think...

Not this year. Don’t see how they do. Not enough good teams. ACC is trash. B12 will only get 1

ND could lose another

Bama
A&M
UGA
OU

I’d say they all have over a 60% chance of getting in

Bama
Dawgs
Aggie
Mizzou
Boomers
Ole Miss

I’d love to see Vandy in there as well.

Agree and they would deserve it. If Im a Vandy fan I’m concerned though that there may be voters who still don’t take them as seriously. Saban said it himself when picking LSU on College Game Day

Schedule looks pretty weak going forward.

The ACC is likely to have at least three teams with 2 or less regular season losses.

Miami 5-1
Georgia Tech 7-0
UVA 6-1
Louisville 5-1
SMU, Pitt 5-2

The big 10 is the same.

Indiana 7-0
Ohio State 7-0
Oregon 6-1
Ill, Iowa, Nebraska, USC 5-2

The big 12 will get at least one, likely two.

BYU 7-0
Texas Tech 6-1
Houston 6-1
Iowa State, ASU and Utah 5-2

The g5 will get one spot.

And a 2 loss Notre Dame team would not be left out.

If the ACC and big 10 each get three teams in, the big 12 two teams in and the G5 is guaranteed one team that only leaves three slots for SEC teams. And a 10-2 Notre Dame would trump any bubble team. So it is likely the SEC only gets three teams in.

The ACC ceiling is 2 teams.

The Big 10 is only getting 3 this year.
Big 12 only one.
ACC 1-2
ND
G5
That leaves 4-5 for the SEC.

If I were to guess at this time it would be,

ACC gets 2
SEC gets 4

Last year a 2 loss ACC team with a horrible strength of schedule and zero quality wins got in over three different 3 loss SEC teams with much better metrics who were better teams.

As am I. The committee has shown record is the most important variable.

There will be a lot of teams this season who end the regular season with 2 losses.

And all the committee members who are not affiliated with SEC, the majority, have SEC fatigue.

I concede the chances are likely slim and none but at this point just thinking who’s out there.

B1G - Outside of Ohio State, Indiana, Oregon hard to make an overly compelling case for anyone else at this point. Perhaps Michigan if they beat Ohio State again.

Big XII - Likely BYU or Texas Tech at this point but multiple bids? Maybe but hard to see.

ACC - At this point, Georgia Tech or Virginia. Probably Miami assuming they don’t stub their toe again. Maybe 2 bids but beyond that again hard to see at this stage.

Pac 12 - Only 2 teams in the conference right now and only auto qualify if certain conditions met. Won’t happen this year.

Notre Dame - friendly remaining schedule and likely gets in with their two losses assuming they don’t lose again.

But yes, most likely SEC gets 4 bids though I personally think the case could be made of 1 or 2 additional compared to what else is out there.
