Yeah most of our pitchers are returning this season. Hopefully our bats can put up more than 2 or 3 runs a game.

The new ball should help things out some this year.

Mine wasn't a comment on his play one way or another, it just feels like State fans have been talking about him preseason for ten years or so now.

No idea what to expect from us this year honestly. Regional appearance and nothing more is always a safe bet though.

Pitching should be legit with Grayson Long and Tyler Stubblefield and Sawyers is no longer the hitting coach or sending runners to get gunned at home, so that's good

South Carolina should be solid this upcoming year, #4 Recruiting Class coming into the year.

Some unknowns but we got some key contributors coming back, I would think the team will at least be able to get to host a regional if not more.

This is going to be a very interesting year for Chad Holbrook and the Gamecocks.

We've had something like eleven consectutive Top 5 classes, several of them #1 by various services and probably all of those have been attributable to Holbrook.

These past four or five classes have been especially exceptional. So we're loaded - now all we need to do is somehow get through a season relatively injury free because I cannot remember another season where we were bitten by the injury bug like last season - and he still had us in the post season - but that team just never could get the chemistry going to get us back to Omaha.

The goal is always, first and foremost, Omaha for our program and I am hoping they come into this season really dominant and get that chemistry and confidence going early like they are always capable of and usually we meet expectations in that regard.

Last year was just weird.

I don't know how many consecutive years we've won at least 40 ballgames, or how many consecutive years we've been in the NCAAs, but I think it's first in the country, if not it's close to it - both streaks.

But I also think our fans want back nearer to 50 wins this season and another trip to Omaha or they/we may start becoming jittery. We'll see I guess. This team has the talent and ability to do big things this season.

Well it should. That's something I'm actually looking forward to seeing. LSU and SCAR had always played big ball until the bats were changed to the BBCore standard, I think that's what they call it. I'm hoping to see some more dingers out of both of those clubs this year. Those used to be some epic battles with balls flying out of the park everywhere.

I remember one Super Regional SCAR was playing in, I think it was down at Georgia maybe ten years ago or so, where I wanna say SCAR sent four in a row over the fence and came very close to putting the fifth one out ... I'm talking about back-to-back-to-back-to-back. I'm not sure these new balls are going to allow for that kind of exhibition swinging for the fences like LSU and SCAR used to do all the time, but the new seams are supposed to make a substantial difference.

From what I've heard in most fall practices and scrimmages, the ball is carrying more than people thought. I think baseball will start to be much more interesting for the average fan. I mean hell, you know something is wrong when they had to change things up in the homerun derby in Omaha to make it interesting

Our hitting will be very very good but the pitching staff remains a question losing Nola.

The talent is absolutely sick though, even losing Marshall in the recruiting class. We have 3 potential freshman arms who are so good they could start for numerous SEC teams, I think 1 possibly 2 starts for us.

LSU returns a pretty good nucleus although you expect the pitching to slide a bit when you lose a Nola. However the consensus #1 class coming in looked better than expected in Fall Ball. Like many teams, the new balls will mean more offense and judging from the fall games, the Tigers will have some serious offensive pop. Could have two TF in the starting weekend pitching rotation. SEC contenders for sure. We'll have to see how the freshmen gel with the returnees before we call them a CWS contender.

None of our fans are going to take that as a flame. I literally have zero idea why Bundy said that.

Toward the end of last year, Rae had played so badly we all wanted him benched. He is an extremely good first baseman, but he can't hit worth a shite, and as you mentioned, strikes out more than a third grader would in the MLB.

We're still going to be pretty damn good this year though.

Hard to tell. Some sites had us as the #1 recruiting class along with LSU but we don't have a single left handed pitcher with meaningful experience returning. Killian on Fridays should be nasty though and our hitting should be a lot better.

This could be DVH's most talented team yet honestly but that doesn't mean it will equate to Omaha. We will see how they play together.

You must not know about John Holland then. He has been killing it in fall ball batting over .400

I talked to someone on the team recently and was told Marshall was probably 3rd behind Lange and Latz in terms of what they thought as potentially the best pitchers in this year's class. Very good source and I can see why they are excited about Lange. He's been unreal in fall ball. I think by midseason these two are in the rotation. Lange will probably be in from the start.

A&M should be a top 16 type team. We return pitching and add some good sticks. Even better is we can get an NCAA approval for White.
