We won a playoff game this year and you didn't.

Big deal.

Are you going to continue to throw a childish tantrum today?

A&M success entirely due to schedule".....nope. They did not perform well in the end, but will return as more of a contender than Texas or Oklahoma.

While I agree that getting eleven wins was not exclusively due to our relatively easy schedule and that we were not frauds, I don’t think we’ll be a contender next season. Our defense will be better, but our offense will be retooling and I’m not convinced anymore than Reed can be even adequate in big games where the opponent isn’t susceptible to running QBs. I’m thinking 9-3.

Again, you think winning a playoff game is equivalent to an SEC Championship? lol.

The sec is the NFL now

With 9 games and parity with NIL, almost every game is less than a 10 point spread

The playoffs will go to 16 teams and you will have 3/4 loss teams getting in.

You have about eight teams that would not surprise me if they win the SEC in 26

Alabama, Texas, and Ole Miss. Kirby can no longer win games in the playoff so don’t expect much from UGA.

You really need to work on your reading comprehension skills, son.

Alabama. And. Georgia. Are. Both. Sitting. At. Home. For. Tonight's. National. Championship. Game.

Is that clear enough?

Throughout the 2020 COVID-19 impacted season, the University of Alabama football team did not have any notable players miss games due to COVID-19, and had zero players opt out of the season

Key details regarding Alabama's 2020 season and COVID-19:

Opt-outs: No Alabama players opted out of the 2020 season, making it one of the few programs in the country with zero, according to reports in September 2020.

Early Cases: In early June 2020, at least five players tested positive upon returning to campus for voluntary workouts.

Regular Season Success: Throughout the season, Nick Saban reported that the team had few issues with COVID-19, with only one, possibly two, positive tests mentioned in late October.

Coach Absence: While players remained largely available, head coach Nick Saban tested positive for COVID-19 in October 2020, which was later determined to be a false positive, though he still missed the Iron Bowl against Auburn in November 2020.

quote:

Widespread Impact: In November 2020, at least seven teams—LSU, Arkansas, Mississippi State, Auburn, Texas A&M, Georgia, and Tennessee—were simultaneously managing COVID-related roster shortages.

Significant Disruptions: Multiple games were postponed, including matchups involving LSU, Alabama, Florida, Mississippi State, and Auburn due to players being in quarantine.

Specific Team Data: Reports indicated specific outbreaks or high-risk contacts throughout the season, including Auburn losing 16 players in one week, and Missouri and Vanderbilt struggling with roster numbers.

Opt-Outs: Several teams, including Vanderbilt, South Carolina, LSU, Auburn, and Ole Miss, had players opt out of the season early due to COVID-19 concerns

quote:

In 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the
Big Ten and Pac-12 college football conferences started their seasons very late (October 24 and November 6, respectively) after initially canceling, while the SEC, Big 12, and ACC started later (late September/early October) than usual, with the SEC beginning September 26 and the Big 12 delaying its conference slate to September 26.
Conferences with Late Starts (or Resumptions):

Big Ten: Originally suspended, they reversed course and resumed play on October 24, with a shortened 9-game schedule.
Pac-12: Also initially canceled, they reinstated a season starting November 6 with a 7-game schedule.
SEC: Pushed their season start from its traditional August/early September date to September 26.
Big 12: Delayed the start of their conference season to September 26, playing a modified 9-plus-1 schedule.
ACC: Started its season in late September, allowing for one non-conference game, later than typical but before the Big Ten and Pac-12

Bama got a super easy schedule but they will still lose to UGA, LSU, and Florida St. So they will likely not make the playoff.

What does that have to do with this guy's post that started this line of conversation?

what is funny is that we are arguing amongst ourselves about competing for a natty only to get our cheeks clapped by a B10 or ACC school....or in georgia's case, Ole Miss in the post season.

Absolutely nothing.

So did money buy those two titles or did player evaluation and player retainage win them?

I'd also argue that the effect of NIL and transfer portal hadn't taken place. Those two teams weren't built in the NIL portal era. They played in it but wasn't built in it. Now that the portal and NIL era is in full swing yall haven't even come close to assembling the same type teams. And youve yet to win a game in the 12 team playoff and haven't won a playoff game period in three years.
