How the hell is A&M and Auburn behind FSU in total bowl appearances when you guys had like a 50 year head start on us?
It's a fair question.
Auburn has had some great decades and some downright terrible ones. AU dominated in the late 1800's and early 1900's up to about 1920 or so but sucked in the 20's after Donahue left and were plain godawful in the late 30's through the 40's until Coach Jordan arrived in '51.

The Aggies actually added those two fake titles the year they joined the SEC. They also claim a "share" of a big 12 championship lol. It truly is sad...

well...we can all agree that Tx A&M is the biggest and best A&M school out there...barely nudging out Florida A&M in football...and just ahead of Prairie View in academics.

I don't see why y'all are so burnt up about being the 2nd school in a huge state. There is no shame in being behind UT.
Richt Syndrome...ain't nothing wrong with being second...hell Georgia fans had been enjoying it for the last decade

When you go unscored upon and undefeated in a season you can claim whatever you want that year.

How is that possible though when y'all didn't even play in the Big 12 title game in 2010?

You have to list these schools based on endowment first, because that's usually how most publications rate these polls. Auburn, Clemson, Florida State, and Virginia Tech are not big money schools. They are in the same fold as Texas Tech, ASU, Mississippi State, and NC State.
Michigan State, and GT have very deep pockets.
Texas A&M is on another level of wealth.

Texas AM is the flagship university of the Texas AM university system in Texas which includes like 11 other campuses.
Uni of Texas is the flagship of the Uni of Texas university system.
The flagship is the main campus in a university system. If two universities are not in the same system, it is not accurate to say one is the flagship in the state but not the other.
Many states only have one university system so this isn't an issue. Generally the largest university that is also one of the oldest is the flagship, at least on the east coast. Sometimes the landgrant ends up being the flagship as well, the flagship got land grant money after being established for several decades. University of Maryland - College Park is an example of this.
California is another one with multiple systems.

I question that. Clemson stadium and facilities are about as good as it gets and this is despite being a much smaller university compared to other large state schools.
i don't thnk endowment money is used on athletics.

Y'all changed the sign over the summer then added the explanation in late September, well after football season started, because it became a national joke.
Propaganda attempt denied.

You are somewhat correct.
UTex-Austin and Texas A&M University in College Station are the flagships of their respective systems. Additionally, both universities, at present, remain the only flagships (aka Tier One public universities) of the state. Again, that will likely change soon,
senate.state.tx.us, p. 9:
It's not surprising that the majority of posters on a sports message board--comprised mostly of schools from small states--don't understand the differing nomenclature used for higher education logistics in a behemoth state like Texas.

The THECB recognizes seven emerging research universities:
• Texas Tech
• University of Houston
• University of North Texas
• UT Arlington
• UT Dallas
• UT El Paso
• UT San Antonio
