I hope Dyer doesn't end up like Maurice Clarett.

I dunno if a three way tie is appropriate
TM7 knew he was on his third strike and still smoked (if we assume that was what booted him). When he was only one year from a potential first round pick in the NFL draft and being a star player on a potential NC team that is pretty incredibly dumb
He really had everything right there in front of him and fricked it up... I hope he lands on his feet somehow but this is tough

They're all three pretty stupid. But I love hearing people say that losing a player like that is "addition by subtraction." That's such bullshite. Like how in the hell is losing your starting RB good for your program (Crowell)? It made me laugh hearing all you up-your-own-arse UGA fans(even Vince Dooley) talking about how losing Crowell was a good thing for your team. The bottom line is, you lose your starting RB, it's definitely going to negatively affect your performance, at least until the new starter can establish himself.

The one that was a former Heisman finalist on a team that was considered a National Champion favorite by many.
Dyer and Crowell could have played their way to more money in the NFL, but imo neither UGA or AU were/are title contenders. Both are very talented backs and could possibly have been Heisman hopefuls, but I don't think either was poised to have a Heisman season.
TM7 had all the hype from last year and would be watched early and often. If he put up a season like last year he would likely be a Heisman finalist again. It would be a longshot to win it, and it is hard to have 2 exceptional seasons in a row. He would also have been poised to win a 2nd SEC title and a National Title.

anyone who says losing TM7 doesn't hurt LSU is flaming, rationalizing, or just dumb. Of course it hurts. He was not an elite cover corner but he was good and he was an elite play-maker who had a ton of tackles, forced fumbles, sacks, interceptions, and big plays on coverage and return for special teams.
You can easily argue that no single player made more big plays for their team than TM7 did for LSU last year.
Of course as a LSU fan I hope that guys step up and replace him but losing him hurts you in terms of depth, youth, and intangibles.

It got them those two stud RBs who can stay out of trouble, so it did kind of being a good thing.

Well dyer was a product of the Arkansas public school system, so he had that going against him from the get go.
