Well dyer was a product of the Arkansas public school system, so he had that going against him from the get go.
Dyer went to a private school..

They're all three pretty stupid. But I love hearing people say that losing a player like that is "addition by subtraction." That's such bullshite. Like how in the hell is losing your starting RB good for your program (Crowell)? It made me laugh hearing all you up-your-own-arse UGA fans(even Vince Dooley) talking about how losing Crowell was a good thing for your team. The bottom line is, you lose your starting RB, it's definitely going to negatively affect your performance, at least until the new starter can establish himself.
Not that I have much experience with shite like this (thank goodness) but sometimes troublesome kids that can't follow the rules that the rest of the team follows can become a huge distraction. They have a shitty attitude and that just pisses other players off.
It's not fair to the rest of the guys that choose to do the right thing to have to put up with a guy that repeatedly fricks up and stays in the doghouse.
They can become a cancer to the program because their actions eat away at everything the rest of the team is trying to build up.
Production wise, it's hurts the performance of the team on the field because they lose a star. But, in the end someone else will step up and take the reigns and the whole team will be better for it.

You misunderstand the concept of addition by subtraction. Some players -- no matter how talented -- make a team worse with distractions and lack of discipline -- or their own unreliability.
Crowell was one. Garcia another. UT probably has two of those in Da'Rick and Bray. It's hard for marginal coaches like Dooley to part with talent -- especially when they have a thin roster and trouble recruiting. This is one of Mark Richt's big weaknesses.
Does it hurt to lose a talented player? You betcha -- I hated it when Spurrier kicked off Demetris Summers. UGA fans have to be nervous without Crowell. But in the long run, it makes your team much better.

I'm from NWA, we have good schools up here. LR also has good schools where Dyer is from. Down south, not so much.
