Which SECW coach will Kiffin pick to be his nemesis when he goes to LSU?

Would say Saban, but that probably won't work.

Gotta be Bert, right? Kiffin vs. Bert will be fun.

Kidding aside. Don't you think he will get an HC offer somewhere this year?

I think he could do very well in some of the ACC jobs open.

I think so, though I'm not sure where. I think some AD's will automatically shy away from him based on all the loud mouth stuff at Tennessee and the negativity of his departure from USC.

Personally, I just don't think the guy has the skillset to be a great CEO. He's a great football mind, he is a great recruiter, so it seems like he should be able to "grow" into being a head coach......but I just don't think he has it. However, somebody will see the shiny pretty object, convince themselves Saban has "tamed him" (which is laughable) and just have to bite.

He will probably get multiple calls for various head jobs. He supposedly already interviewed for the Maryland job a few weeks ago. The question is whether they will be big enough for him to accept or if he wants to hang on at Bama and hope an even bigger offer comes along next year.

That was shot down pretty quickly.

I just don't know that he is going to want to go to a place like Syracuse, Maryland, etc.

Honestly, I think the UCF job would be right up his alley. But my guess is he wouldn't take it.

Dunno about Fax Girl specifically but Kiffin has had a real good time in Tuscaloosa overall.

I'm worried about losing our Kiffin. He's a top-notch recruiter who has significantly improved our defensive linemen from year to year, and we only have him as a d-line coach. I would be shocked if he didn't get a DC offer this offseason.

Kiffin is not a great football mind. He has a great football name that got him a job he shouldn't have had. He has then bounced from job to job based on history moreso than results. I would hate him to death at LSU.

Whatever you want to think. Guy has been fantastic as our offensive coordinator and even better as our QB coach. You'd be a fool to not want him running your offense in Baton Rouge (see that I said OFFENSE, not PROGRAM).

I could see Kiffin and Bert having some fun verbal jarring, but Kiffin spent some of his childhood in Fayetteville, so I doubt that Arkansas would be his nemesis. Then again, he'd be the coach of LSU, so he'd probably tire of us picking on him.

What is actually funny is that if you look back over his career at Oakland, Tennessee and USC......the only place he acted like a petulant child with the media was Tennessee. It was 100% contrived and forced because he thought it is what he had to do to push Tennessee into the spotlight (lol Tennessee). He didn't do any of that stuff at USC.

I'd say he's done okay at Alabama, but I still think his offense holds you back. It's the only thing that makes Alabama beatable, imo.

I hope he doesn't go to LSU. LSU is loaded with talent and people forget that he had Tennessee turned around in year one and almost kicked our arse. The situation at USC was a shite storm that he walked into and inherited. Saban couldn't have salvaged USC with all of those scholarship limitations.

I think Kiffin has probably learned a lot about organization from Saban and what it takes from an intensity standpoint to win at the level Saban wins at. Kiffin will be one of the best coaches in the country before it is all over. He has done amazing with our offense the last two years considering what he has had to work with. He has had two first year starters and turned them into functioning QB's. What he did with Blake Sims was nothing short of amazing. Coker just sucks and he can't fix that.

The dude can coach offense as well as anybody in the nation in my opinion.

He made chicken salad out of chicken shite last season with Blake. Once they figured out what they had in Coker this year he has developed gameplans that do about as much as he can with our skill sets.

He does sometime go into "here, hold my beer" mode, but for the most part he has put together really good gameplans, called solid games and has done a great job with non-NFL talent at QB.

The sad thing is his guy, Blake Barnett, is probably never going to play a down for him.

What happened with Blake? I guess I missed that.

To clarify what I said earlier, I agree that Kiffin's a good OC. I just think his offense is too fast for Alabama's style. Then again, I haven't really paid attention much this season, so I may be wrong.

I love Blake, I was probably more happy for him than any football player we've had in the Saban era, but he was not an SEC QB. Heck, we had him at RB all of his sophomore season. He can't even get a job as a backup QB in the CFL right now. And Kiffin (and Amari, TBH) made him into a serviceable and even record setting QB.

EDIT : Sorry, you meant Barnett. Nothing happened to him, I just think Kiffin will be gone this offseason and Barnett will end up playing for the next OC.

Saban decided that to continue to stay where we were we had to develop more explosiveness on offense, and so Kiffin is doing what he is expected to do.
