Conspiracy theorist....

But strangely no rebuttal to the point. Typical. Alabama is so accustomed to getting favorable officiating that they openly brag about it and actually complain to the SEC when they DON'T get it. And I don't mean they complain when they get a bad call against them, I mean they complain when they DON'T get a bad call in their favor.

Where the bloody hell do you think the office should be located? Geneva?

Atlanta would probably be a better choice. Bigger and more cosmopolitan than Birmingham, with Georgia Tech in town and with a significant professional sports presence, you'd probably have less of an atmosphere of pro-Georgia bias there than the pro-Bama bias in Birmingham.

Well considering Auburn had more holding penalties last week than Bama has had the last couple of years i'm going to say Bama.

I'm sorry. The office in Birmingham doesn't favor Alabama--or Auburn, in officiating. Yes, the replay by Dick Burleson was shameful but that is the exception.

Not all refs or office folks are Tide fans. It just doesn't stack up. The game happens too quickly for a ref to be thinking "gotta help Alabama."

I know a ref. He is an alabama fan and he told me he will never throw a flag against alabama.

There, does that bring credibility to this thread???

Saban: "You guys will get a cut of my salary relative to the number of penalties called in terms of game situations. Now I don't want you flagging any holding penalties. Aight?"

No, not all of them. Just most of them. And the head of SEC officiating.

Yeah, right. How is it then that refs have been busted in the past for fixing games (usually for gambling interests)? I mean, it happens too fast, right? They couldn't do it if they wanted to, right?

Actually, we're just laughing at you guys.

I, for one, am SHOCKED that the most disciplined and talented team in the SEC gets the fewest penalties. I am equally astounded that when teams play the team with the most complex schemes and talented players, they get more penalties than they normally do. It just doesn't add up.

Also, having the SEC office centrally located is a crock of shite. I vote we move it to Nebraska.

But, to put your mind at ease: Stats

Just click on "penalties" and "opponent's penalties".

You can go back to 2007. I don't think you'll be as excited about your findings as you'd hoped.

Same coach, same type disciplined and talented teams, never finished in the top three of the conference in least penalized stats in five years from 2000 to 2004. Apparently, discipline and talent only lead to fewer penalties when said coach is at Alabama. And, of course, the discipline and talent of those Dubose, Franchione and Shula teams must also have been what made Alabama one of the least penalized teams in the SEC during those times, too, right?

People often try to laugh it off when they know the criticism they're getting is spot on.

Or Atlanta. Less of a pervasive bias there than in Birmingham.

The head of SEC officials is an Alabama alumnus. There is no fricking way he can be impartial. No fan can.
