Alcohol consumption by the gallon? This is a very poor metric, to compare consumption by volume consumed per capita, with type of alcohol not even being a consideration.

As many have noted, Kentucky is a bourbon state. The volume of alcohol sold/consumed wouldn’t be a relevant comparison between Kentucky and any other state.

Kind of like comparing basketball NCs per capita.

My first thoughts about Kentucky and Tennessee ...is this just measuring federally taxed alcohol consumed...or does it take moonshine into account as well?

Kentucky?!?!?! Do better. You're the bourbon capital of the world. WTF.

Kentucky produces and drinks lots of shine, as such that drinking will not show up in official statistics.

LA is has drive thru daiquiri bars.

Some states have laws against open containers in the vehicle.

Florida? Lots of those are from vacationers coming down to get drunk. So, that's not all yours. In fact, I figure a large portion goes to those Cajuns from LA, they win by a landslide.

Canadians will drink us all under the table but if you want to get serious... Check out this link and down to those eastern Europeans. Canada is 10 liters, US less than that but Estonia? 140 litres LINK /

Texas has drive through tea shops.

Tampon dispensers in the men's room in Austin, as well.

They are definitely formidable.
