Tennessee or Alabama and it ain't even close
. Both great and if you can catch Tennessee River bass consistently you can catch bass ANYWHERE. Some of the best bass fisherman learn their trade on the Tennessee River. It’s LOADED with fish and a perfect place to perfect techniques because it offers everything.

The one that takes the cake though is fricking Allen Henry. Easiest 6-8 pound bass lake I have ever fished. I damn near destroyed my trailer hauling my boat on oil field roads from New Mexico to Allen Henry but catching 50 fish a day, none under 3 pounds and most pushing 5, was worth the wear and tear

Looks like Chicken has the spot for the 1st annual SEC rant bass fishing tournament.

Fun fact: Roland Martin used to be a guide on Santee Cooper in South Carolina.

Yeah our fisheries got hit pretty hard several years ago by golden algae blooms. One trophy lake I used to fish in OK I could pull 7s out of there on artificials and then an algae bloom hit and it was like the lake went dormant. You could fish all day and maybe get one or two bites.

Most of our fisheries have recovered from that since then. Eufala, Broken Bow, and Grand Lake probably top fisheries with great smaller fisheries sprinkled throughout the state.

I get it but I have never even seen a 10 pound bass in a flowing river. Hard to believe

7lbs is a trophy river bass.

I'll take smallmouth fishing on the Buffalo River. Don't even care if I catch any or not.

No idea if Florida tracks big fish catches but I'd think Texas has to be right there with them for big ones.

"The 2023 Toyota ShareLunker season was a memorable one, thanks to the 346 anglers from across the nation who entered 497 lunker largemouth bass into the program throughout the year from 89 Texas public waterbodies.

The total included 313 in the Lunker Class (weighing between eight to 9.99 pounds or at least 24 inches), 154 Elite Class (weighing 10 to 12.99 pounds), 18 Legacy Class (weighing 13 pounds or more and caught between Jan. 1 and March 31) and 12 Legend Class Lunkers that were 13 pounds or more caught outside the spawning season. These entries provided valuable data to Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) biologists across Texas in their ongoing efforts to manage largemouth bass populations."

One of my best memories as a kid is fishing with my dad on Lake Guntersville. We hadn't caught much all day and I really wanted to take fish home and clean them and fry them. We had about 30 minutes of sunlight left and dad said "If we don't catch at least 5 more we're gonna throw these back and head back." We landed on a stripe bed where they were feeding and literally every other cast was a bite, some big ones too. We took a bunch home that night and cleaned and fried them, as a ten year old I felt like a fricking hero bringing that cooler back.

Love Lake Guntersville and South Sauty Creek. The song Panbowl by Sturgill Simpson always reminds me of those days.

You can't eat Bass. The rivers are unclean.

I've eaten plenty of bass but I've never caught one in a river.

Isn't LanierSpots a bass fishing guide?

He might have an opinion on this.

There is just so much water in Florida it is not close. I have lived pretty much everywhere. I mean I can simply walk about 75 yards to a lake on the golf course and kill it from the bank. The big water ways like Lake Ochechobee are the best in the world.

Bass are no longer edible in Georgia.

They have parasites in their heart, lungs, and intestinal system.

Deer have it too.

It's gross. I miss the days, baws.

The entire Savannah River drainage is FULL of good fishing. The Savannah River is chockbock full of bass all the way to Savannah. Miles and miles of it below Augusta gets almost no pressure…it’s great.

.

Not even close to true. Bass are big bream, sunfish, they breed like fleas and are delicious. Eating a LM bass caught in the Chattahoochee River at 6 Flags is healthier than eating a free range organic chicken from Whole Foods.
